“Margaret was actually my provider through Cerebral, but when they changed their stance on stimulant medications she sent me a private email asking that I not alert Cerebral and start seeing her through her private practice instead. I’ve been paying her $50 a month out of pocket and seeing her virtually for 5-10 minutes once every 3 months since that time. While she was a nice lady and great at filling my meds, once I requested assistance with a medical leave of absence and short term disability, she said only her patients through her “full time employer” were entitled to those benefits. She did agree to submit paper work for intermittent FMLA and Accommodations on my behalf. After my HR team confirmed they did not receive any paperwork, I had my PCP complete the necessary documents. Even after I forwarded her the original email with the paperwork attached, and she FOUND it in her spam folder, she went so far as to try and gas light me into believing I never sent it. I’m obviously no longer seeing her as a private patient.”
