How likely are you to recommend Main St. Psychiatry, S.C.?
What patients say on Google
“I have been a patient of Dr. Parks for about a decade now! She is wonderful! Very patient and kind as well as genuinely cares! The entire staff is wonderful! Always cheerful and so helpful! I highly recommend this entire practice!”
“Would not recommend. It's a shame Zero stars is not an option. There are only a few people that work there that are worthy of a five star but unfortunately it's definitely not the mental health "professionals". When I told the psychiatrist I could not get on a GLP-1 she actually told me to become diabetic so that my Family Dr would prescribe me one. Also, the meetings were unprofessional because she will only meet via zoom and her cats are constantly walking in front of the camera, and yes, it is distracting.”
“Great psychiatrist with a team that cares. I see Lynn and she is wonderful. The staff is also very pleasant when calling with questions. Katie has gone above and beyond multiple times to help when needed. She is friendly and truly cares about the patients calling in.”
“If it wasn’t for Lynn I’d be giving zero stars. Lynn DeRose was my doctor for going on 5 years prior to a couple months ago when I missed my second appointment in a year. I made a new appointment, made the relevant drug testing (as they do offer in house tests for $25 instead of quest, which I forgot about as I didn’t have to do them for a few years) After missing my appointment and making a follow up, I asked for some of my medications to be sent in as I lost insurance and had no idea what to expect on state insurance, not to mention the stock issues and everything else going on, with 6 days until my appointment I asked for even a weeks worth of medication to get through to the next Monday. They sent in most of them, but not all. When I asked reception to ask Lynn I was told that I didn’t need the medication and that “you won’t go into withdrawal,” as if that’s a justification for making someone wait a week with no medication. While a patient, I had fluctuating improvements, but I realize now that it was just because I was going 3 weeks on medication to 1 week off for no reason other than “I won’t die.” I called again on Tuesday or Wednesday following my missed appointment Monday and asked for the remaining medication to be filled. I then received a call from them stating I was being referred to a higher level of care and may return after 30 days. They referred me to rehab for asking for a weeks supply of medication to get through to the next appointment. As someone with severe anxiety, not having medication is a huge driver towards panic attacks. My new provider is amazing, sends refills in 5 days early just in case of stock issues or cost. I’ve now been there two months and doing better than ever! Turns out, the side effects of the medication were causing low testosterone, extremely low, and I should’ve been tested when I brought it up years ago. My ups and downs were exasperated by sudden medication stoppage and the low T. Not once in almost 4-5 years was testing offered. I’m only giving 1 stars because of Lynn DeRose and most of the office staff, usually Katie is awesome. But the last couple months of treating me like an addict because you can’t be bothered to send in a 5 day supply of medication is ridiculous, offensive, and quite frankly disappointing. I never asked for early refills, vacation fills, etc. the only thing I asked was that my prescriptions were sent in in a timely matter. No patient should go into withdrawal or skip medication YOU prescribed because it snowed and you work from home, or because a missed appointment due to working second shift and oversleeping after a long weekend at a concert and 9 hour drive home. There’s zero excuses to discharge a patient and write 1 months of prescriptions as “fill weekly” other than to make me go back every 5 days. Insurance won’t even allow it unless it’s 2 days or less (and yes that applies even if I am self pay to the office).”
