What patients say on Google
“Let's start with why I gave 4 starts. I have two children that see 3 different providers at MPA. Dr. Smarrella, Taylor A., and Olivia K. I think these 3 providers are amazing and work great as a team in providing the best care and support for my kids. They are all so easy to talk to and really understanding. Taylor had never met my kiddo in person as they always did telehealth appointments but she saw we were coming in office for a different appointment and during her downtime she came to the waiting area to say hi in person to us. It was very sweet. She definitely did not have to do that but it really made me feel like "hey she really sees your kid and cares about them". Olivia and Taylor are always so helpful during our parent sessions. I truly feel like they both want to help me help and support my kids as much as possible. They both have helped me talk/work through some really difficult and vulnerable parent times. I am so appreciative of that. I usually dont have an issue with communication with the scheduling staff/receptionist but I have on the rare occasion felt some scheduling staff members could have been nicer. The billing department was always kind and never made me feel bad for not being able to pay for services in full when I had insurance coverage changes. They were kind and understanding and helped me work out a payment option I could afford while still see my provider. One thing I dont like is having to have in person appointments with my kids psychiatrist. And this is because we do live a bit further away so as the primary parent it can be a lot to take the time off work for so many appointments for 3 kids. But the provider does allow me to schedule hour long sessions which helps make up for the drive. I do highly recommend MPA! I cant speak on all MPA providers but I have had personal experiences with 6 of them (2 from years ago that no longer work there) and all have been really great.”
“As someone who experiences PTSD and mental health issues, I recommend not calling to speak to front desk staff to communicate messages effectively to your provider. They can be cold and dismissive, and blame the patients for their poor communication of their own clinic. You never know who is going to answer, and who will help you. There is some wonderful doctors there, but the front desk staff often displays a lack of empathy, unprofessionalism, and it concerns me as someone who is just trying to seek care. They accuse me of harassment, when they are actually carrying out reactive abuse. The front desk neglects patient care and just wants to pass it off to the next person. They know they are dealing with people who have trauma so kindness and consideration can go a long way as a skill required for receptionists at this office. Not even letting me finish my sentence before transferring me to a voicemail is diabolical. How could you know what voicemail I need if you don't know what I am calling about?”
“When my husband finally sought help, his trauma was so severe that he couldn’t relay it out-loud. He was asked to write it in a letter, he did. His next session came and his therapist (who I am graciously choosing not to name) said “oh yeah, I didn’t read it yet”. It was devastating to him, writing down some of the worst events of his life just for his therapist - who he is PAYING to care - to not even bother to read it or prepare for the session in any way. He never scheduled another appointment and refuses to try again with someone else. I hope she did get around to reading that letter and saw it for the desperate cry for help that it was. More importantly I hope she recognizes how her apathy may come off to her future clients.”
“My daughter has been seeing Dr. diamond for years. In this time hes has been frequently 20-40 minutes late for telehealth appointments. Recently my daughter got her own health insurance coverage, they neglected to let her know prior to her appointment that they do not accept her health insurance. She's 20, she didn't know any better, then they dropped a $500 bill on her. They have not been negotiable with her making payments and bow have threatened her with collections despite never answering the phone qhen she tries to call them. Their customer service is terrible and their bedside manner is worse. I DO NOT recommend going here. Think about being a kid with depression and anxiety and a psychiatric facility basically doing everything possible to make it worse. I would give them ZERO stars if i could.”
