What patients say on Google
“Someone close to me went through Lonestar Mental Health’s residential treatment, and I’m grateful for the care they received. The staff was compassionate, and it made a real difference during a tough time.”
“A well set up facility that provides important and sympathetic care to people when they really need it.”
“This is a very nice facility with a staff who cares about their patients.”
“This facility felt unsafe and unprepared to handle panic attacks or anxiety disorders. Despite being promised support, especially at night, staff were untrained, dismissive, and inconsistent. I was even offered a vape by staff multiple times despite not vaping, and told to use my inhaler for a panic attack, even though inhalers can worsen anxiety symptoms. During a severe panic attack, I was denied access to contact loved ones, (when I was told I would be able to in an emergency) ignored while hyperventilating, and received inappropriate care. I felt trapped, scared, and unsupported, especially after passing out and no one caring. They watched it on the video surveillance after I said this is the main reason I’m leaving and they had no idea what to say except do you want to go to the er (hours after it happened) and were sorry you felt that way in the moment please give us a second chance.Communication was poor, staff gave conflicting information, and my concerns were dismissed. I ultimately left feeling worse than when I arrived after less than 24 hours. I had a five minute phone call after asking to call family for 8 hours and was told my 5 minutes were up and had the phone taken away before I could tell my fiancé where to get me. He had to zoom in on a picture I sent him right when I got there in the Uber of the gps to find me. They also called him trying to convince him not to get me. Also the nights staff fall asleep, dismissal and watch shows that show graphic SA and violence in the living room all night. Complete nightmare.”
