What patients say on Google

“Our insurance referred us to Lifestance. My daughter and I were looking for a therapist to address some mental health issues. When we called to make my daughter’s appointment we were told they took our insurance so we made 2 appointments. (One for that week and one for the following week for my daughter ) my daughter had her first appointment and all was well. Then a few days before her 2nd appointment, we received a phone call from Lifestance informing us that they don’t take our insurance. The gentleman told us in person out of pocket was $50.00. When I asked about telehealth, he was unsure of the price and said he would get back to us with a good faith estimate. (We didn’t hear anything) then the morning of her 2nd appointment she signed into her patient portal and there is a bill for $975.00. Let me just reinerate that she has only been to ONE appointment. So obviously, we called them. We were told it was that much because Shanda Higgins prescribed medication to my daughter, which is a blatant lie. She’s not licensed to do so( picture attached)& my daughter gets her medication from her primary doctor. Then we were told that the therapy appointment went over by 10 mins so we were charged another full appointment. That falls onto Ms.Higgins. I have NEVER been to a therapist who isn’t paying attention to the time. That’s their job. I have been to REAL therapists where it’s $150 out of pocket for a 1 hour session. Nothing was resolved. The customer service is a joke. This company takes advantage and scams vulnerable people in need of mental health services. Disgusting! Complete SCAM! I will be reporting this company and I will make sure everyone is aware on all social media platforms as well.”

“A referral was made for a member of our household and we recorded an initial phone call from someone who handles their referrals and scheduling. She was very pleasant and asked all of the appropriate questions. At that time, she was informed that we are self pay. I was told that the initial visit for the patient was “going to be no more than $250 and the subsequent visits would be around $125.” I agreed that sounded reasonable with others in our area and the appointment was scheduled for the first available; which was a month later. When the appointment came, and it was time for check in, we were then told that the initial visit was $395. When asked how much the subsequent visits would be, the young man at the desk said he “wasn’t sure and would need to email the practice manager”. I was asked to fill out a form to receive a discount, and the provider came out and called the patient for the visit. We expressed our concerns to the counselor, and she too said “those prices sound extreme, I will email my manager as well and we will get this figured out.” The appointment was completed and upon checkout the young man stated that the initial visit was “reduced to $315, but all other visits will be $285”. What?! That’s $600 is a two week period. That’s unbelievable. The next scheduled visit was supposed to be next week. This provider is not even a MD. I expressed that we were never explained this pricing, and if I was, we would have never made these appointments or come today. That is called “informed consent” and we were told one price and then given another. The gentleman then said “I’m sorry, but it’s corporate and this happens all the time.” When I asked to speak with a manager, he said she wasn’t there and that I was going to be told that’s it “under corporate and there is nothing they will do about it.” The entire interaction felt misleading. Self pay, beware.”

“I highly recommend Nick at Centerway. From the very beginning of my journey, he has been compassionate, professional, and incredibly supportive. He took the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. His calm and reassuring approach made a meaningful difference during a time when I was navigating a lot of change. I’m truly grateful for the care I’ve received from Nick and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and compassionate care provider.”

“The facility is brand new and super nice and I had a great experience with the provider I saw. She truly listened to what I had to say without judgment or pushing her own opinions or beliefs on me and she and I collectively came up with a treatment plan that we agreed upon. I appreciate the fact that she included me in my opinion in my treatment plan rather than just telling me what she was going to prescribe/recommend for me. I highly recommend LifeStance!”
