How likely are you to recommend LifeStance Therapists & Psychiatrists Decatur?
“I had a very pleasant experience with my therapist at Life Stance, however the billing side of things is where I have my issues. I was a tele health patient since October 2025 until April 2026. I never once went to any of their offices in my time there as a patient. In February I got a random charge stating it was for an outstanding balance. I noted of it and planned to call to dispute it, but before I could I got notified of another outstanding balance this time triple the amount of the first. I immediately called and they were only able to stop the second transaction and I was told the first one would be sent to be reviewed. I continued as a patient until my last appointment in April when I was again charged randomly this time double the first one. After a few phone calls and everyone shifting blame to someone else I was able to deduce that these charges were for "unpaid copays", but not for all my appointments just the ones someone had cherry picked. For some insight into how this company works, I am unable to attend my appointments without first paying my copay. I would not be able to access the link to my tele health appointment without paying my copay first so you can imagine my confusion as to why I am paying for an appointment from January in April when I had no choice but to pay for my appointment in January in .... January. Furthermore these random charges were from an entirely different office, the Johns Creek location, while every single other receipt I had from paying all my copays was from the Decatur location. I have had 7-8 phone calls with the billing department , I now speak directly to their advisor Jem, and have determined that these random charges are from being billed as an in person patient. I explained to them to look at the receipts from these appointments and see that I paid the tele health co pay and they would confirm that information and then proceed to tell me that it was my insurance's fault. I spoke with my insurance multiple times, so much so I figured out that not only was Life Stance in the wrong but they actually had be charging me the incorrect co-pay for every appointment in 2026. At this point I am owed at least $65 but up to $120 from incorrect charges on behalf of Life Stance. Every time I speak with the billing department they acknowledge that I have paid for every appointment but just reiterate that the extra charges are to pay for the in person co pay and in the same breathe acknowledge I am a tele health patient. I have a friend who had the exact same experience as I had with a different insurance provider so it leads me to deduce that Life Stance is at fault. She still hasn't received what she is owed and neither have I, even though in one of my numerous phone calls I was told they sent my case to be reviewed and there was no way for me to receive an update on it until they called me back in two weeks. I called them two weeks later, since I had not heard from them, to learn that none of what I was told had happened and they would actually do it this time. That was April 22nd it is May 15th and I have yet to hear from anyone at Life Stance except to see if I wanted to schedule another appointment, as I had to stop going during this whole fiasco. I closed down my account and now am looking into other options as I no longer can trust this company. My therapist was wonderful and the employees that I spoke with directly were incredibly kind, however the billing department and their polices have been nothing but a headache. If you do decide to be a patient with this company just do not sign the Credit Card Authorization form unless you want to be in the same predicament I am in.”
“LifeStance has been amazing!! My physician is always available to me through email and get back to me in a reasonable timeframe. She also listened to our very first conversation about medication and did not try to shove all kind of medication down my throat. Which is a blessing in itself!! THANK YOU A THANKLL THAT HAS BEEN INVOLVED!”
“Katherine Gill has helped me tremendously I suffer with anxiety and low depression and in the time that I’ve been seeing her, I have been able with the tool she gave me to successfully get over my fear of flying that being stated, I must also give the front desk lady Erica a shout out. She has been nothing but supportive and kind to me and even helped me when my Zoom wasn’t working.. They are a pleasure !!!”
“I, always accompany my sister to all of her appointments. We are always satisfied when we go to her sessions with Katherine Gill. She is always so pleasant, friendly and supportive. She listens to everything that my sister has to say. She encourages her to talk about anything that bothers her. She doesn’t rush her she literally listen. I truly recommend her because she makes it easy for me to understand my sister feelings, emotions of what she is going through. We look forward to our next session. Also, her receptionist is just as nice.”
