What patients say on Google

“This is by far the worst experience we have ever had. We came in hoping for thoughtful, collaborative care with Amy. Instead, our concerns about our daughter’s stability and treatment plan were repeatedly overlooked. There was little attention given to her history and no willingness to work toward a balanced, safe approach. We were ultimately told to seek care elsewhere, which we will be doing.”
Adrienne Moore
“Lifestance is wonderful! They work with me on appointment times and are always willing to help when I have questions. My provider Amy Short is so helpful and always listens.”
Genesis Ballard
“Because of the therapist’s expertise and active listening skills, I saw in myself (through his questions) that I could separate behavior from a person. This method allowed me to retain compassion and empathy and say “no” without guilt or remorse. I am very grateful.”

“I called in September to make an appointment, and they let me know that there was a wait, but that they could see me in December. On the phone they asked me if I preferred a in person or a virtual appointment. I made it very clear that I wanted an in person appointment, as I struggle a lot with virtual sessions. Shortly after I made my appointment with Lifestance, my husband was scheduled for a back surgery. The surgery happened to fall the day before my lifestance appointment, but I decided not to reschedule, because this was important to me and I knew I could make it work. I filled out all of the paperwork weeks before the appointment. About an hour before the appointment, I was sent a text asking me to fill out pre-check in paperwork, most of which had already been addressed in the paperwork I had already filled out weeks before. In addition, the drive to Lifestance was 45 minutes away from the hospital I was in, so filling out redundant paperwork an hour before the appointment was frustrating to say the least. I completed the paperwork (and paid the co-pay), drove to the Lifestance office, and saw a sign that said I should wait in the reception area, and that my therapist would come get me. After 15 minutes without someone coning to get me, I checked my email, where I found a message from the therapist saying that she was waiting for me. I found someone in the office and asked them if I was in the wrong place. I was not. The therapist had messed up and planned a virtual visit, even though everything was marked as being an in person visit. The therapist was not even in the building. I canceled my appointment and asked for my co-pay back, and I went to my car and had a complete meltdown. 3 months of waiting, navigating my husband’s health issues, last minute paperwork requests, driving on icy backroads to get to what was absolutely supposed to be an in person appointment, only to have this screwup on Lifestance’s end. And now I’m getting text messages and emails saying that you “hoped my appointment went well!” and asking me to schedule another one. I am exhausted from trying to manage what I am quite sure is ADHD, and this is such a disappointing experience from a company that quite frankly should be far better at this sort of thing than me. You’re literally supposed to be experts at helping navigate mental health issues, and instead this experience just made me feel worse.”
