How likely are you to recommend LifeStance Therapists & Psychiatrists Beachwood?
What patients say on Google
“I had a terrible experience and unfortunately, I was never able to actually be seen by a provider due to all the administrative errors. For my first attempt to schedule an appointment, the phone intake had already lasted 30 minutes and I did not have time to finish it right then and there. I have never had a intake phone call take anywhere take nearly that long and the process wasn't even done yet. It was absolutely absurd. It seems like the person had no idea what they were doing. I called back at a later time to finish the intake and the person that answered that time seem to be more competent and got me scheduled. However, I had questions about the billing and they gave me a billing phone number. I ended up calling that number 3 different times over the course of several weeks because every time I called, someone different said that they weren't sure what I would owe and they said that they would find out and call me back. No one ever called me back. Again, I had to take the initiative on three separate occasions to call them and every time they gave me a different answer as to what I would owe. I kept telling them that I called my insurance company and reported what they said I would owe and then the Lifestance billing rep would just agree with me and I called them out on contradicting what they had literally just told me, so it seemed nothing that Lifestance told me could be trusted. Anyway, after I waited at least a month for an appointment, on the day of the appointment, I was doing the online check in and the system said I owed a copay twice the amount that it should be. I called the front desk to ask about it and they said they would have to call the billing team. It took them 25 minutes to look into that and by that time, it was already well past the appointment time and the appointment had to unfortunately be canceled because I obviously wasn't going to pay twice the copay I was supposed to pay. Also, if they intended to charge me this incorrect copay, why couldn't they tell me with certainty that that is what they wanted to charge me during any one of the three phone calls I made to the billing department prior to the appointment, rather than me having to find out on the day of the appointment. The entire ordeal was a complete waste of my time. I could have already had an appointment with a provider elsewhere rather than being strung along by several teams of people who seemed to have no idea what they were doing. I would not recommend Lifestance at all. They operate like a corporation, weighed down by the bloat of their own bureaucracy and obviously value profits over any kind of positive experience for clientele. They are deeply out of touch with the local community. The way they operate is a complete mess and a colossal joke.”
“Dr Spies was amazing. I haven’t been in psychiatry/therapy in many years and was very nervous to start back up. Dr Spies was a very good listener and personable. Definitely will continue with this practice. The scheduling was within a couple weeks and easy to do all on my own online. 10/10!”
“The staff and my providers have always been considerate, understanding and professional. The building and office are easy to find, there’s plenty of parking space around the building and plenty of space in the waiting room. Their tele-health virtual visits have always worked great for me, all you need is a phone and the app. The online patient portal looks a little outdated, but it works fine and it allows you to send messages to your providers directly. This place has always been very helpful to me and I’m really grateful that it’s there.”
“My therapist was excellent, compassionate, and professionally helpful. Unfortunately, my experience with the administrative and financial side of this practice has been extremely frustrating. I encountered repeated issues with billing, communication, and administrative follow-up, which created unnecessary stress while seeking care. I would recommend my therapist personally, but prospective patients should be prepared for potential challenges with the practice’s administrative operations. I will never seek services from Lifestance again. Update: In response to my review, LifeStance asked me to email them to discuss my concerns. I did so promptly, but I have not received a response. This has been consistent with my overall experience—communication and administrative follow-through have been lacking. While I value my therapist, the administrative and billing issues remain unresolved, including my dispute over the $75 no-show/late cancellation fee, which I do not believe was warranted.”
