How likely are you to recommend Latham Medical Group?
What patients say on Google
“Unfortunately, my experience with this practice has been extremely frustrating. I understand that weight can be an important part of someone’s overall health, but it becomes discouraging when seemingly every concern gets routed directly to the “You’re overweight” department, even when the problems began when I was at a healthy weight. Rather than looking into those concerns further, the primary recommendation was, “Track your food.” Apparently, my food journal is now the Sherlock Holmes of medicine and will solve all mysteries. The experience at the front desk hasn’t helped either. One particular receptionist has been consistently rude and has openly rolled her eyes during interactions. Nothing says welcome to our healthcare practice quite like being greeted with an eye roll. I understand that working with the public can be challenging, but patients shouldn’t feel like they’ve personally offended someone by checking in. Then there’s the office’s five-minute late policy. Patients are expected to arrive on time and can be penalized for being more than five minutes late, which is perfectly reasonable in principle. The interesting part is that the same sense of urgency doesn’t seem to apply to the office’s schedule. Long wait times are just part of the package. I was also charged a $50 no-show fee because of a miscommunication regarding my appointment time. I explained the situation, and the front desk interaction was, shall we say, less than warm and fuzzy. Thankfully, Patient Billing was absolutely wonderful and took care of the charge. So, five stars to Patient Billing for restoring a little faith in humanity. Overall, I left feeling dismissed rather than listened to. Healthcare should involve looking at the individual patient and the whole picture, not automatically reducing every concern to weight. I’m not expecting every doctor to have every answer, but I do expect my concerns to be taken seriously and looked into rather than having the medical equivalent of “Have you tried losing weight?” applied as the universal troubleshooting solution. At this point, I’m fairly certain my food tracker would receive more attention than some of my actual symptoms. I switched practices though.”
“I only stopped in to verify my coverage because I changed health care providers and I was graciously received by Nadine who was cordial, respectful and professional. She secured me that my new provider was acceptable and was nice enough and updated all of my new information. While I was there, I was just chitchatting explaining to her about having problems hearing out of my ear and she promptly set me up with an appointment this week to have it checked out. She is the best and so are all of the care takers at Community Care Physicians, Latham Medical Group 😍”
“Do yourself a big favor and stay as far from this place as possible. Your doctor will change constantly. The newer doctors are terrible by and large. If you get one thats good they never stay more than a year. And you may get handed off to non medical professionals at times who make unilateral decisions on your behalf with no regard for your input. I cannot believe I stayed with them as long as I did in hindsight. Use their service at your own risk.”
“What an absolutely horrible operation this place is. I need to reschedule an appointment that I have had scheduled for a year (that is still three weeks away) and as of June 5th the soonest I can reschedule for is November. What is the point of having a PCP if they can’t see you. This is already strike 2 for this place after a bad experience I had on my initial visit last year. Just terrible, terrible service. Go anywhere else.”
