What patients say on Google

“Absolutely appalling. I do not recommend Paul Callis whatsoever. He refused to listen to my concerns and rather than take a rather holistic approach, he focused on me answering his questions rather than having a natural discussion of my concerns and understanding more deeply what was going on. It felt like he was clearly talking out of a script. He stalled any ability to get a referral to get an evaluation done, and after it was done and it confirmed what I had said all along, he said that he had doubts of my diagnosis. Nowhere was it considered a possibility of changing different medications or trying drugs that could focus on different aspects of my mental health until I actively pushed for the referral and it was confirmed. I have since moved away from the region and found an MD who listened to me and was floored when he heard about how he mishandled my situation without considering that tries to show everything and is active in my care. Paul just made me feel like I was going to listen to him and do what he asked, without allowing me to explore my options. I was patient, I was kind, but at some point, hearing that he had doubts of my diagnosis was the final nail in the coffin. And while a simple discussion could have resolved many issues, I felt that there was nothing I could do to change the relationship I had between myself as the patient and my provider. I am glad I am seeing the right provider now in a new city that cares about my health and has even brought up more concerns regarding some of the other medications I made, concerns that nobody has ever brought to my attention until now.”

“To be honest I am a bit shocked with all of the negative reviews I have read on here. My experience has been the opposite. I have had no trouble calling and booking an appointment, I have had no trouble calling to reschedule and I have had no problems accepting the phone call from the doctor for my scheduled appointment. I have been under the care of medical professionals for my depression and anxiety for years and I’ve never felt as heard as I do when I discuss what is going on and my symptoms with Paul Callis. He’s been a great medical provider and I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Lafayette Psychiatric!”

“Knocked on the door during business hours, the girl opened the, i assume the receptionist, then proceeded to tell me I had to call to set up an appointment. Ridiculous. So I did, just to prove a point, and of course nobody answered. So I left a message, and of course, nobody called me back, its been 2 whole business days. This place is a complete joke, especially playing with people who are dealing with mental health issues. I wish I could give it zero stars.”

“Don't waste your time with this practice. I had a appointment with a doctor and I was switched to another without being told. Also my appointment was to be a in office appointment. The doctor said he called 3 times but there was no voice mail set up He never called. My voice mail has always been set up and I checked it and he left no messages. So he basically lied. Then was 30 minutes behind. Keep in my thought it was in office so I actually went to the office .....then is when I was informed about the doctor change and video call appointment. Then he lied a never called. I was told to reschedule my appointment. No thanks. This practice is not what I need. But I guess it will do if anything will work for you. This was my first appointment with this Dr. Callis He lied he never called. My voice mail has always been set up I wasted my time and money only to be told to reschedule. Unprofessional, uncaring, I would not recommend this practice to anybody....I see I got a reply from the owner. If my accusations are false why the reply in the first place. I will have my life coach to support my claims of medical neglegence being she is the one that delivered my intake paperwork and referred the practice. Nothing I stated is false or un true. It is obviously a poor attempt of a smear campaign to patients that speak out. Your practice is poorly maintained and Managed.”
