“I am a caregiver and I take notes at each telehealth appointment to ensure my client is receiving continuity in care. At his last appointment the psychiatric nurse and I agreed that my client's follow up session would be at the same time in the afternoon which was 230pm central time. I immediately put this follow up date and time into my client's appointment schedule. On the day of the appointment, we attended the 230pm session but come to find out I did not check the gmail invite which posted the follow up appointment at 215pm central time. 215pm was not the agreed time but I accept that I made an error by not checking the google invite ahead of time. Needless to say, we were 15 minutes late to our appointment and were not let in. I immediately emailed and asked for a reschedule AND to see if a medication could get filled as we were running low. I have left 2 messages per day over the last 6 days since appointment kindly explaining the situation and have not received a single email or call back. At the time of this review, he is down to one capsule. Furthermore, his pharmacy has sent multiple requests for authorization for refills and stated that they have had no response from the provider. Unfortunately, this is the second time we have had issues with getting medications refilled in a timely manner and now I will need to request an emergency refill from his primary to get him by until this issue is resolved. We are strongly considering finding a new psychiatric prescriber so that we can ensure my client is receiving the quality and timely care he deserves. We did appreciate the psychiatric nurses professionalism when it came to his appointments, but something needs to change in the way this provider communicates with their patients and their patients caregivers. There really isn't a good excuse that I can think of over why this is happening...”
