What patients say on Google

“I was not impressed with the therapeutic service provided by Dr. Nzefeh. This was my first time getting therapy so I was excited. The first meeting was him look at anxiety and depression diagnosis. The next was working on a plan for me. My first few meetings were more patient-focused which I was not a fan of. I felt like he was not asking me any questions that would give him any insight into me. The questions were standard how are you and how do you feel. He had diagnosed me with depression and anxiety and I felt like the treatment plan was the standard cookie cutter plan you give anyone. Journal how you feel, set up goals and complete them. There was nothing about his approach that took who am and what I am going through under consideration. Every meeting felt more and more useless to me because every piece of guidance was out of a self-help book and his advice is something that friend or parent could give you. All my worries and concerns were swept under the rug with each meeting and he made each appointment feel like a lackluster interrogation. Also some of his medical understandings were very questionable, he said because something was not usually diagnosable for someone my age group he was refraining from looking into it and because my symptoms share similarities with anxiety and depression. I very well could have anxiety and depression but most people do and those two diagnosis are very safe to hand to anyone and don't have strict criterion for diagnosis. What hurt me the most was that because of his lack of effort in understanding me his advice was useless to me. I communicated multiple times that I struggle to do easy things and its causing me stress and all he would do is give me more tasks to do. In our latest meeting he gave me the tough love speech where he was like, “its up to you to decided whether or not you want help or just get medicated”(the gist of what he said). After that I ended my lesson with him. I do not recommend him for anyone with pressing mental health issues who needs someone who will listen to them and adjust their approach to your needs. He is best suited for people who already are already well-adjusted, without any pressing or life impacting mental health issues. Anyone who wants generalized life coaching.”

“KNK mental health is a really great office. They offer in person and virtual appointments. Martin Nzefeh has helped me greatly in the time I've been seen by him. Also the office staff is really quick to respond and get back to you. Muhammad has answered my questions and very quickly helped if I have run into issues.”
