What patients say on Google
“If I could give this provider zero stars, I would. We waited over a month for an appointment with Dr. Strauss. I understand given the need for services; but I am frustrated over the amount of time wasted - I would have been ok waiting for the right or even a decent doctor. His profile on Endeavor states, “Dr. Straus combines clinical insight with compassion…” Our experience with him was far from compassionate and that should be removed from his bio. My son was diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and treatment resistant anxiety & depression. Reports have been sent from his neuropsychologist with all of this information. The doctor said he had to go in in person because he couldn’t maintain eye contact with him virtually, asked if he was always slow, and refused to hear his concerns about his suggested medication change. Many people on the spectrum struggle with eye contact; between all of his diagnoses, he often requires repetition, has a longer processing time as stated in his reports, and has an extremely difficult time leaving the house; and he had been on the medication combination suggested recently which was ineffective. His response to my son saying he wasn’t sure about changing his medication was that I made and waited for this appointment with him, and he could choose whether to follow his recommendations or not. He then proceeded to list other health systems with psychiatry departments we could try instead. When I pointed out that we didn’t hear my son out to hear his reason(s), Dr. Straus asked if I heard the ringing in the background. He said that meant his next patient was waiting for him, and he was already late to that appointment (he was also about 20 minutes late for my son’s appointment) - that we would have to schedule another appointment in person to continue speaking. If you are looking for a doctor that is empathetic and patient and understands how patients’ diagnoses are manifested and can even create challenges to their treatment, stay away from this provider at all costs. The most tactless, rude, callous doctor I have ever come across, both personally and professionally as a registered nurse. 12/03/2025: Adding that I reached out to an office manager in early November (unsure of the exact date) regarding this issue and also reached out to the Patient Experience Team on 11/10/2025 per their response but never heard back from anyone.”
“After reading the reviews, I had my doctor make a referral. Dr Straus reached out to my internal medicine doctor instead of doing the intake with me. He suggested that I see a therapist first for my anxiety disorder. It leads me to believe that this psychiatrist lacks emotional intelligence. He clearly would not make time for me. ( even though I’m struggling with a stalker ) So disappointing!!”
“My name is Barry A. and Dr. Straus is a kind, extremely gifted, and straight shooter. In the past, I’ve had physicians who really never showed much concern or interest. I’m glad to say that Dr. Straus is not one of them. He’s so concerned about his patients that he goes above and beyond in my care. I’ve really gotten lucky this time around and so will you if he becomes your psychiatrist. He’s got a dry wit and easy to get along with. Give him a chance and you won’t regret it.”
“Dr. Straus has been a life saver. My depression and anxiety have been difficult to treat, but there has never been a time that Dr. Straus hasn’t had an answer. He is extremely knowledgeable in the field of psychiatry and the various studies that have been done in the treatment of mental health. I respect the way in which he so responsibly monitors his patients’ medication and I admire his sound moral and ethical compass. I am thankful to be under his care.”
