He listened to me, he took the time out to explain several things to me and established a plan to help my mental health. I am so glad he was referred to me. “I came here over a year ago in crisis and they got me on the meds I needed to be on and helped me get back to a livable baseline. As time has gone by I just feel like the care equates the mediocre care you can get in a facility that actually takes insurance. Another reason I came here is because they supposedly specialize in my genetic mutation. I haven't felt that I've received any care specially based on my genetic mutation. In fact at one point I specifically asked to speak to Dr. Joseph Iskander, as I see a NP here instead, and that is honestly where my view of this facility was first tainted. I was hoping he could give me recommendations on doctors that would remove my tube's, both based on my stance of not wanting to be pregnant or give birth, but also because of all the risks that come with it directly related to my gene mutation. He went on to recommend I look into more "non permanent" procedures. Like ablation of the uterus. Which IS permanent, and does NOT prevent children. As someone who has been receiving mental health services since I was a child, Dr. Joseph Iskander is dismissive, comes off as misogynistic, and I would not recommend him. More recently I asked for extra lab work because I was in crisis, and was told it could not be justified to insurance, so they would not do it. Despite it all directly correlating to my gene mutation and mental health. On this same day, every other facility I go to, including urgent care and the emergency room, also refused to help me. So now I'm left scrambling to find new doctors, a new psychiatrist, and a way to get my meds since I refuse to go back because they would not help me. Apparently, they also do not supplement a medication they are prescribing, even in the process of leaving them to find a new provider, even if they are the ones falling short. It's yet another mental healthcare facility that does the bare minimum and doesn't help when you actually need it. I would recommend NOT wasting hundreds and hundreds of dollars on mediocre care you could get covered by insurance at a facility that has the same level of knowledge, and does nothing extra despite claiming to specialize in a particular field/mutation. Perpetually disappointed, but not surprised. Also called as a follow up to get my own medical records and they charge $50 to get your OWN medical records. I've literally never been charged for requesting my own medical records. Anything this facility can do to get every last dime they can possibly get out of your pocketbook.”

“I highly recommend Dr. Iskander, he is kind, extremely knowledgeable, and professional. I have been working with him for about a year and my mental state and quality of life have drastically improved since then. He truely listens to you and works WITH you to make a plan that is best for you. Unlike other psychiatrists I have gone to he doesn't steamroll you or just look at you as a payday. Silver at the front desk is great too, always welcoming and on top of everything.”

He is very intelligent and perceptive, and works hard with me to keep my medication straight, and has helped me tremendously since I started going to see him.
