How likely are you to recommend Jones Barry N MD?
What patients say on Google
“I hate to see the negative reviews since I've been a patient here for years. Of course not everyone has a positive experience, but most people only write reviews when they're negative. When people are happy, they don't take the time to write about that. Anyway, this practice is the best in the area! The staff is friendly, Susan and Nadine are amazing, and Beth and Brenda can fix anything. I've been charged for missed appointments. And I never complained. They're running a business and I messed up. I've also had additional tests done that my insurance covered. You always have the right to say no if a test is going to cost too much. Anyway, I love these guys and I highly recommend them!!”
“First of all, let me start by saying that I was a patient for a couple of years before this office changed ownership. I was told AFTER a visit that I had missed an appointment and was charged 80.00 for missed appointment. When I questioned Brenda about this, she stated that I had missed several appointments in the past and I HAD to pay..I had always called and cancelled appointments and was NEVER told I had missed one until my last appointment. I then wrote an email to owners, and complained.. Well, a week later, I received a letter saying I was terminated from their care for " not following their recommended treatment" Utter bullshit.. They were upset that I requested my 80.00 back. This place is money hungry and the care is not up to standards. I would pass Dr.Jones in hallway, and he would not even acknowledge me. I will tell you, I am happy that they terminated treatment. I found a new Doctor for treatment (I have severe ADD) and the quality of care is far better than Dr. Jones's office was. I do not recommend this doctor for treatment for any diagnosis.”
“Very disappointed after going here for a couple of months. I'm not really sure what the point of my visits here was. All they seemed to want to do was bill me and mess with my meds. The information I shared and their feedback was inconsistent with each visit. My problem was with drinking. In the one visit I met with Dr. Jones, I told him that I was working to control my drinking, by never having more than a max of 2 drinks. When I shared this with Susanne, my primary provider, she insinuated that I was not working toward my recovery. Nothing changed at all from the information that I shared with each of them. Additionally, Dr. Jones suggested I take a TOVA test, which cost a little over $100. He mentioned that it sounded like I do have ADHD, and would likely need a low dose of Adderal. I took the TOVA test, paid for the TOVA test, and was then told that I would have to be "sober" for a full year, before they would prescribe the medication to me. I asked what the point of taking and paying for the test was, and was given an answer that was not straightforward at all. The real reason, was so that they could collect an extra $100. I'm positive of this. After my first visit, every visit was about 5 minutes long. I could tell Susanne never remembered anything I had told her during my initial consultation, or during subsequent visits. I felt like I was starting over each time as I had to remind her of the most basic issues. I would go in, talk with her for a few minutes, walk out with a different prescription, and pay my $116 copay. Finally, on one of the occasions, I called in to speak with Susanne. "Cory" answered the phone and told me that "Susanne has reviewed your message, and will get back to you when she has time". I simply said, "what message?" as I was actually returning Susanne's call. So that did not make sense to me, and I was just trying to make sure that they were thinking of the correct patient. I was later told by Susanne that Cory said I had spoken rudely to her, and that she was concerned about my truly wanting to work toward recovery. She then told me that "verbal abuse" would not be tolerated and that they reserved the right to terminate a patient at any time. What?! Verbal abuse?! I was never anything but polite, and actually feel that I was overly patient with them. So today, I went ahead and terminated myself as a patient and will seek care elsewhere. I sought this place out, because I know that I have a tendency to abuse benzodiazepines and alcohol. I was upfront from the beginning. I wish I had read the reviews before selecting them as a provider. Please heed my advice and stay away from here. My intent is not to bash this business, rather to warn others who are seeking true patient care. I do not want anyone else to make the same mistake and realize a few weeks and $1,000 later that it was all a waste.”
“In this organization you really don’t get to see Dr. Jones. You see a PA. And all of the PA’s I have seen in 8 years, have been extremely mediocre. I am in search of a new doctor now, where I can really work with a doctor. The therapists here are complete idiots. It’s a money machine only. I am only sorry I didn’t get out of this mess sooner. They love to charge you for missed appointments so be aware. The PA’s don’t get educated on new drugs or new therapies.”
