“I was told by my endocrinologist and my regular dr to talk to my psychiatrist (Potenza) about anxiety medication because I have graves disease, which causes heart palpitations. Potenza suggested three different anti depressants, all of which I've been told by my medical dr would interact with my current medications. She told me, "I dont treat graves," but still took a stubborn attitude as to what medications she insisted i should take. Potenza seemed to be irritable with circumstances outside my treatment and behaved in an unprofessional manner, essentially arguing with my Dr's suggestion and responding with a short tempered and negative attitude. This was an end of day, last-minute appt that I would not have made without my Dr's direction, and Potenza made it very clear that she was inconvenienced. I'm now seeing a psychiatrist who is willing to take my larger medical condition into consideration. Her office called four times to set a new appt after this video call appt although I told the phone rep I would call back after I spoke to my dr. I felt bullied and judged which i feel is absurd for a mental health dr in the context of a patient suffering from a debilitating disease.”
