What patients say on Google

“Over several years I have found Dr. Irfan and his staff to be kind, non judgemental and attentive to my care. He is the first psychiatrist who listened to my symptoms and presented a thoughtful suggestion to add to my current medication. Coupled with regular counseling from a therapist in the same office, I have noticed improvements in how I think and feel.”

“I went to an initial assessment only with Dr. Irfan. It wasn't a good fit, so I decided to look elsewhere. Another client might have a different experience, or course. During the assessment, I often felt unheard and unseen during the session, including one exchange where he recommended VNS, I said I already did it, it was costly, and it didn't work, and then he repeated the recommendation TWO MORE TIMES (with no further details or explanation) and I repeated my response two more times. He seemed inattentive, and I realized one reason was that he was alternately looking at his computer screen and me; it's hard to give one's full attention to a client when one's mind keeps drifting to something else. At the end of the session, he advised me to "push yourself harder," which is not a helpful thing to tell a person who's lived through decades of chronic, treatment resistant depression.”

“I have had nothing but excellent experiences working with Dr. Irfan for my care. Always listens and his stellar clinical skills are greatly appreciated. He is credited for turning my health around for the good over 4 years ago. Thank you Dr. Irfan for your continual astute care. (He has more than 1 profile - so adding this to the other one - not a dupe!)”

“I worked with this doctor for years before realizing how unprofessional and sexist he was. It was always concerning that he had clients in for 10-20 minute visits. Usually that was the length of my visits, and I only saw him every 3 months. But I thought (foolishly) that he just knew us all so well.... the first red flag was him FORGETTING that I had an eating disorder, something I had told him on my initial visit. The final straw was telling him that I was planning on getting pregnant, and him thinking that he would basically have to meet my husband to decide if I was ready to reduce my medication further and have a child(!). I was so shocked I did not know what to say, but I texted my husband to confirm I was not crazy to feel this way, and wrote him a letter expressing my feelings. I’m embarrassed that I was so naive. But I needed to tell my story. I would recommend going to anyone else. This doctor needs to have sensitivity training.”
