How likely are you to recommend Horizon Behavioral Health?
“Maybe if you're a child they'd be more helpful but if you're an adult trying to help yourself id seriously consider somewhere a bit more supportive. They expect you to carry yourself 100% of the way with all the obstacles that come with it. Ive been calling since I got out of the psych ward for trying to commit suicide, I need outpatient and help with refilling meds. Ive been off of my medicine for over a week now and am really struggling and havent been able to even get a call back. They'll set appointments up and not send the telehealth link. I call and it goes to voicemail. Ive left my name and number countless times to still not receive ANY OUTPATIENT SERVICES AT ALL. Ive been out of the hospital for a month now. That's how long I've been trying to establish myself some help. Sometimes its hard to even ask for help, sometimes its hard to get the energy to keep caring and places like this are suppose to ease everyday burden and help your mental state, NOT ignore you and seemingly hope you go away making your mental worse.”
“CAN referred me here, but they refuse to even do an assessment if you don't have insurance When I asked the old, blonde lady who was supposed to do my intake why she was refusing me service, she said it was above her pay grade. Found on their website: "Access for All: Services are never denied due to an inability to pay." Yet I was denied service for inability to pay”
“Sierra from the CSB came across as very rude, unknowledgeable, and inept at her job. I am Beyond shocked that she is employed in the mental health field when she seemingly has no knowledge about anything pertaining to mental health. I am shocked that Horizon would hire professionals who do not possess basic common sense and are living in la la land.”
“My daughter was supposed to receive counseling through Horizon for anxiety associated with her ADHD diagnosis. I did the intake via zoom before the appointment. The only day they could get her in was on her birthday. We went & waited … & waited … & waited. After an HOUR waiting, we were finally told that the provider went home after being there half the day. She called later to apologize & told me that she didn’t realize she had another appointment. WHAT?! I told her I’d prefer another provider because I’d lost faith in her. The next thing I knew, we received a letter in the mail that they had no providers that took our insurance & gave us names of other places we could go. It has been over a year since that happened & I am still getting a bill for $134.62 for the intake zoom with a nurse. Now, I would not have a problem paying that if my daughter had actually received services. I did the intake in good faith that she would. She did not. I have told them that they need to just write the amount off. I should not have to pay that when she did not receive the services we were promised. I have talked to several people, including a manager, who said they’d get back to me, but I haven’t heard anything back. Yet, I continue to get bills in the mail. I’m not sure what’s going on there, but with all of the recent poor reviews, they need to do some major changes & figure out how to do better. They are causing MORE stress on people who are already struggling & looking to them for help. At this point, I would tell people to go anywhere else. Don’t use Horizon. They seem to be disorganized, to not care about their patients and are a strain on the mental health of potential clients AND their families.”
