“If you are looking to get connected fast with a therapist, this is your place! They have a lot of different therapists and therapy styles, and there's someone for everyone. I really appreciate their warm and professional atmosphere.”

“I so wish I had avoided this place. I called with a referral seeking a therapist for my teenage daughter. I stressed that we needed to set this up as soon as possible. They insisted that I fill out a bunch of intake forms and even provide my confidential credit card info before they would check availability. It was a big hassle. So what happened after that? Nothing. Nada. Radio silence. No calls back, no message, nothing. This place is not worth your time. Now I have to worry about my credit card.”

“BE VERY WARY and carefully interview your therapist if you are a high-conflict couple; in my experience (60 sessions!) with the head psychologist of the Hinsdale clinic, there was a lack of assessment and understanding of covert emotional abuse and a lack of holding accountable the power and control dynamic at play...which would have been the one intervention that could have saved my marriage. Unfortunately, an "everything is 50% your fault" mentality was very strong (and the Christian bias of valuing marriage over an individual's wellbeing is likely at play). I eventually quit therapy and quit my marriage and am doing much better, though the grief of the trauma from my marriage therapy is still with me. I recommend Relational Life Therapy instead- they are trained to take sides and defend victims to often produce real change. My individual therapist is also here- and she is wonderful. IFS and EMDR has really provided breakthrough and emotional freedom from deep-seeded early childhood traumas. a very bad experience with a great one; I give 3 stars.”

“A year ago, I finally told my doctor that I’d been experiencing at least mild depression and anger management issues. My father and grandfather tended toward depression, and I assumed that my negative thoughts and angry reactions were just the way my mind worked. The doctor suggested that I might benefit from counselling, specifically Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Fortunately, Diane Doll at Hinsdale Professional Associates was available to help me. Working with Diane over the last year, I have come to understand that I had it backwards: My thoughts and reactions were not the product of an inborn and unchangeable negative mindset. Rather, my negative way of reacting to people and the world largely created the negative mindset. Under Diane’s guidance, I’m making good progress in how I approach and react to people and events. I feel happier, less angry and more at ease with myself and others. Diane is very knowledgeable and experienced in the science of psychology, and was able to suggest helpful resources. Her approach is supportive, encouraging and compassionate. Our sessions are conversations in which she takes the role of a coach or really good friend who doesn’t tell me what to do or think, but rather helps me to discover a path consistent with the person I want to be. If you’re reading this, you may be looking for help to make changes in your life and hoping that change is possible. If you are, and if you get a chance to work with Diane, you should do it.”
