What patients say on Google
“I would give him no stars if I could. I was referred to Dr. Moreta in Riverhead to get cleared to drive again after temporarily losing my license due to a medical condition. It was hands down one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a doctor. His bedside manner is absolutely terrible. After only 5 minutes of talking to me, he abruptly referred me to a cardiologist. When I asked why a cardiac referral was necessary for my specific situation, he completely shut down the conversation. Instead of explaining his medical reasoning, he threatened me by stating if I didn’t do what he said, he would personally write a letter to the NYS DMV himself to ensure I couldn't drive. A 5-minute conversation is not enough time to make such an assessment, let alone threaten a patient's independence because they asked a basic question about their own care. If you are looking for a neurologist who listens, explains things, and actually wants to help you safely get back on the road, avoid this office. Total lack of professionalism and empathy.”
“Dr.Moreta was awesome. Gave perfect attention to our situation. He is brilliant! Kind and thorough. The tests he ordered and assessment was perfect. 5star”
“While my visit with Dr Moreta was exceptional, taking time and genuine attention to hearing me out, the lack of care and response I have since received is almost (if it didn’t have to do with my health) laughable. There is literally no way to actually speak with a person in the office and I can almost guarantee you will never get a phone call back from them, unless you escalate the situation in various ways. Read the reviews and you will see that I am not the only one to complain about this. Now, unfortunately, I have wasted a full month of time and I still don’t know what’s wrong with me because there seems to be zero system in place at this office. It’s horrifying and disrespectful and quite honestly I can’t believe it functions this way. I don’t mind waiting in an office, I don’t mind waiting a few days for response, but I am at a full month now and I still have zero answers and have only received phone calls back because my brother is also an NYU doctor and has put in calls to get that for me. Please save yourself time and stress and find a different office. The ONLY reason I gave two stars as opposed to one is because I loved the doctor, although the fact that he allows this for his office makes me feel way less positively about him.”
“He failed my father. For years we complained about his symptoms. Forgetfulness, paranoia, etc. We wasted so much time and money doing tests just for him to literally say he doesn't know what is wrong. By the time he got worse, a geriatric-psychology unit in Bridgeport hospital could tell us he had Lewy Body Dementia. Dr. Moreta, a neurologist, couldn't figure out he had dementia. What people say in other reviews about the office is true as well. My father refused to go to a different doctor because he was paranoid about Moreta's office being upset. He'd even cancel appointments I made for him. He died shaking and muttering in a wheelchair.”
