“My 12 year old was taken here on a suicide attempt. The facility is clean and they did answer the phones promptly. I don't remember the name of the psychiatrist she had but he was wonderful. The only saving grace of our experience. I am her full legal adoptive mother. I signed the intake paperwork as the decision maker and provided my adoption paperwork AFTER being questioned if I was the birth mother. (Mind you it was midnight after an extremely excruciating weekend). The staff had my husband sign below mine and then they call him, against our wishes for the decision making. Once it was corrected, the social worker, Ester, proceeded to make recommendations that didn't align with the plan we came up with the psychiatrist. The one that was extremely upsetting was the phone call with my 12-year-old daughter on speakerphone after we had already done her outtake plan with the psychiatrist. She did call back to apologize but by then the damage was already done. (This time my child was not in the room- go figure). Thankfully I know the law and how to work the system or I would have been completely railroaded by that social worker. Finally, I'm completely disturbed that my daughter shared with me they allowed her and her roommate to lay on the floor together her last night there and stay up all night. These are minor children that are in a mental health lockdown facility, on suicide watch but are allowed to lay on the floor together? My child has a tether on but is allowed to cuddle on the floor? I'm being pushed for medication but they are not making sure my child is sleeping? If I wasn't so overwhelmed with trying to deal with my daughter's care I would be filing a grievance with the state. There was a lot of unprofessional behavior that if I were not as educated and able to handle would have deeply effected our family dynamic.”
“somebody who did my intake stole my necklace and I'm pissed. anyways ehhhh its okay. very nice day staff, i very much loved Bridget, the recreational therapist, loved the unit manager, and some of the nurses. night staff was horrible. probably only had one or two good people working night staff my whole stay. food was disgusting 99% of the time but the unit manager did her best to make it more enjoyable for us. I think experience here is more so determined by the other patients that are there and a majority of the time I was there people were civil and got along. there were a few instances where there was fighting or arguing but it was always managed quickly by staff. the intake process was insanely long tho. I got there at 11:30 pm exactly and didn't get to the unit and in my room until about 2 am. again night shift is not so great 🤷♀️. they also seem to be extremely inconsistent about searching when you do intake. EVERYONE there had a different searching experience some had to strip completely, others didnt. and more details but eh not my business to tell my searching was fairly normal compared to other places.”
“Lack of communication between staff causes instability and tension amongst the patients AND staff. Most of the TECHS I met were very kind , but it was a 50/50 shot if your nurse was going to be rude, even to the point where my roommate didn't feel safe sleeping. Phone room shut down with no communication of it happening or when it would open, was told I could only call my emergency contact (I have none) but it was lazy work because my day nurse had no problem charging my phone for me and letting me get a couple #s off of it so that I could have contact with my child. Food was withheld at least 3x for me specifically because I missed going down to the kitchen. Even though they bring trays for others. Mine would often get given to another patient who already had their meal. Medical doctor refused to review my repeat X-ray, and it isn't even in MyChart for me to look at. My transfer to another , calmer unit was put in the day I got there, but never got transferred due to miscommunication amongst staff and caving in to patients who were freaking out about not getting transferred asap. My bed was given away multiple times. I was sexually assaulted by male and female patients, and lack of consistency in schedule was confusing. I feel like all I did was exist. Only free time options were cards, tv, coloring. And that's IF the day room was open. Otherwise the staff would demand you to go to your room as we weren't able to sit in the hallways. (I was called a fire hazard by nursing staff because I was waiting on a tech to return form break) For a newer built and remodeled mental health facility, its now listed as my 3rd never go here place. In the 7 days I was here, I never had a shower curtain and the bathroom flooded constantly. Only 1x did I see custodians clean and it was bare minimum. I got the flu the day of discharge because of their lack of cleanliness. This would be a 0 star if it wasn't for certain staff who actually cared. While others were 10000% only there for the check.”
“I have seen many reviews regarding this facility and complaints regarding this facility, well let me be an advocate for this facility. In January l was a patient there. I had a mental health crisis. And l was sent here. This place was the beginning of healing, recovery, and self-discovery for me. From the Psychiatrist on down to the Medical Assistant they were very nice and supportive. Never have l once heard them talk to any of us( the patient) in a negative or derogatory manner. They talked with compassion, empathy, patience, and understanding. We ate 3 times a day( with snacks given anytime we were hungry) we had CBT therapy, individual sessions of psychiatric evaluation( which were done every other day) to see how our mental health improved, we were given options of medication( not forced), we had group therapy sessions and individual sessions as well. Everyone was treated with the upmost respect( not as if something was wrong with us), we had art therapy, and we could talk to our family members daily(if we decided to). Our rooms were cleaned daily, and if someone felt uncomfortable with their room mate( 2 to each room) they will switch rooms with someone more compatible. This facility has resources outside of itself to help people with housing, substance abuse recovery, food shortage, medical insurance, mental health facilities(outpatient), etc. This facility was the beginning of my true self discovery and l want to thank everyone that was there for me at this difficult time in my life. We must understand that life can try to defeat us by attacking our mind. And seeking health for your mind is a very brave step towards mental health recovery. Thank you guys❤️❤️❤️”
