“Review Heather was primarily my then eight-year-old daughter’s therapist, whom I sought around the time my ex-husband & I were going through a tumultuous divorce. I couldn’t have been any luckier finding her, for the sake of my three pre-teen kids whose ages at the time were six, eight, & eleven. My daughter, who is an introvert, clicked with Heather at the get-go & the trust between them set in immediately. She opened up to her & it was obvious that with Heather, she felt safe. The Saturday morning sessions had such a positive effect on my daughter & it became a regular activity that she eagerly looked forward to every week. She even wished sessions lasted longer. It got to the point that my other two kids also wanted to meet with Heather. Heather creatively facilitated their interest into the therapy sessions in such an inclusive way that neither sacrificed nor jeopardized the one-on-one relationship she developed with my daughter, who remained her primary patient. Heather granted her the “say” to decide when her siblings & I got the chance to join their sessions. That move gave her the confidence and reassurance that enhanced the trust between them. Eventually, the regimen evolved into something that also positively benefited the interpersonal relationships between the three kids and me, which helped me better deal with the issues I was having with their father. Heather has a gentle way of engaging the kids & this proved to be indispensable. She reads them well & has an amazing ability to guide discussions while maintaining the kids’ sense of comfort & interest, which encourage them to participate fully. She kept them in the primary position which gave the kids the sense of significance they deserve. It is, after all, about them & their wellness — Heather never lost that focus & her touch. My kids, two now in college with the youngest in high school, still fondly remember Heather. I am very appreciative of the work she did for my kids & me, so I highly recommended her when solicited every time the opportunity presented itself. I still do but unfortunately, she moved out of state, so NJ’s loss is PA’s gain.”
