What patients say on Google

“In the last 2 months our family has had 2 emergencies requiring emergency room visits at the new ER on Mary’s Ave. We were treated in an interior waiting room in front of several other patients. ALL of our information and treatment was broadcast to everyone in the waiting room. If this doesn’t violate HIPAA I don’t know what would. Saying diagnoses, names, addresses, dates of birth. I overheard protected information and had my info listened to. This is not ethical or acceptable. I’m not even going to complain about the 5 hour wait. The new emergency room is garbage.”

“Im only giving two only because we did have an amazing nurse at first which loved how she treated my child and respiratory did make these amazing blankets that’s comforted my child which i am for ever thankful for. The worst part was the DR. The doctor was horrific. She treated my child like an inconvenience and had absolutely no clue what she was doing. We Had to get our child’s medical team involved from the city to tell her what to do and advocate for. My child. The Dr.Bang was like I don’t see the need to transfer but if you want we can only transfer to wmc not her team at another hospital 5 min away because according to her it was illegal which is bs. Then nurse shift change we got a horrible nurse with a horrific attitude. Dr.Bang ordered a med completely unneeded and if you wanted to know the reasoning this nurse and dr were completely the team from hell..We finally get transferred and ended up in the picu and then having life saving surgery. If i. As a mother wasn’t educated on things and trusted this doctor as she wanted to dismiss and. Discharge there is a high possibility my child that randomly couldn’t walk would be dead today and that doesn’t sit well with me at all. We will never come back straight to the city next time.. I did do the survey and what ever this hospital sends put got ignored as well”

“My mother was sent to this hospital over the weekend. Early Monday morning, the attending doctor calls to request permission for a. Blood transfusion. What started out as a call for consent and to discuss potential side effects turned into a condescending call with a doctor who is likely very jaded and should not continue working in her field. The doctor asked about an advanced directive and I informed her the wishes of the family have already been made. When it was clear we were not in agreement with listing our mother as a DNR patient, the doctor then provided her own opinion about why we should not continue to have our mother in this condition. Without knowing the religious background or IF we were religious she then states “talk to your priest.” I explained my mother’s body is still healing from the brain trauma and a NEUROLOGIST, stated it could take several months to acquire a more accurate baseline of functioning. The doctor then stated “he’s giving you false hope. She will not recover. She will never walk again and she will never talk. If she does it may be two words. You should be thinking about hospice not taking her home because she’s too complicated of a patient.” This was the first call of the morning I received and here it is with a doctor who has zero empathy and an aggressive demeanor. I then asked about the additional side effects of the blood transfusion and how the allergic reaction would be treated if one occurred. The doctor’s exact response “like an allergic reaction” a nurse joined the call then explained what the treatment would like, which is what I was asking. I have never experienced conduct like this from a medical professional and will be filing a formal complaint.”

“My son was born here, my woman had minor complications but our nurse shanique Wilson was honestly THE BEST help we could’ve ever asked for. She stayed with us throughout the night, made me feel very confident in the care and professionalism of the facility. Getting better overall, the er is 10x as efficient as it used to be”
