What patients say on Google

“It is rare to find a therapist who possesses both deep professional expertise and profound empathy, but that is exactly who Cherie Burgess is. She brings an exceptional blend of warmth and encouragement that makes it incredibly easy to drop your mask and be 100% your authentic self from day one. Cherie has an amazing ability to pivot her entire therapeutic approach to fit exactly how you function as a human being, providing truly personalized care. No matter what the agenda is for a session, she meets you exactly where you are and acts as an unwavering pillar of support through life's unpredictable ups and downs. With Cherie, you don't just get a listener; you get someone who makes you feel deeply understood, truly seen, and genuinely cared for. Cherie is the kind of professional who completely elevates the therapeutic experience, and anyone who has the opportunity to work with her is incredibly lucky.”

“I have seen Cherie for years. She specifically used EMDR therapy for me and I absolutely benefited from this form of therapy. She is professional, caring, and so helpful. I know many of the other therapists that also work in the practice and they are great!”

“I had an appointment with a new therapist named Lauren, she saw my emergency contact the night before our appointment and cancelled on me. She called me and made it seem like we had a severe conflict of interest, only to tell me she dated my emergency contact in high school. She was very concerned if we spoke about sex that it would make one of us uncomfortable. I was going to see her due to being drugged and assaulted and help heal my PTSD. This did not help. I asked my emergency contact, he said they dated for three months when he was a sophomore. He is now 26. That was a decade ago. I'm disturbed, disgusted, and quite frankly feel violated. I told her I did not care if she dated him, I needed a therapist. She said she could not, and continued mentioning sex. She has on her profile that she works in a judgement free zone and wants clients to feel comfortable, and that it is not about her - I would beg to differ. It was extremely weird and I'm so glad I won't be seeing her, as this felt very judgmental and all about her instead of me and my needs. The rest of the office is probably very sweet, I just do not recommend this specific therapist. Very unprofessional. Please do not reach out to me about this, I want zero contact from this office pertaining to this incident. Zero.”

“I have been so blessed to be able to walk through my healing journey with the support of a kind-hearted, wise, believing counselor, who through the gift of prayer, a safe place, somatic therapy and EMDR, is helping me to heal in significant ways that I didn’t know was possible. Through EMDR, specifically, I received the incredibly real blessing of freedom from the stronghold that a traumatic event had on my life. Praise God for His peace! I remain committed to journeying through more and doing the work not only for my own healing and freedom, but to prayerfully break generational maladaptive cycles and show my children that getting help when needed and doing the hard work is 100% worth it. Thank you, Lord, for using Healing Wounds Healthcare to change lives and, in turn, change the story for future generations.”
