What patients say on Google

“DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Don't even know where to begin, but here goes. The nurses and staff would routinely just flat out ignore patients when they would need something. There was a lady in there in a wheelchair who also had cataracts so bad she couldn't see - they wouldn't help orientate her but would get upset when other patients tried to help her. When she would press the call light in the middle of the night when she needed to use the restroom - they would yell at her - and then blame HER for her roommate (me) not getting sleep. There was another individual who went to get coffee one morning and the lid was not securely on the pot - she spilled some on her foot which had one of the grippy socks on it - the gripping started melting into her foot. They did NOTHING until they spoke with the Dr and then an hr later they put cream on it. Why was the coffee THAT hot??? Also, they didn't go over the meds you were getting unless pushed to and then doses and frequencies were frequently wrong, and not corrected. They also gave a patient the very medication they had overdosed on, which led to their hospitalization. They would only give me half of my regular dose of muscle relaxant every 8 hrs instead of my regular dose scheduled 3 times per day, which means if I didn't ask them in time, I wasn't getting my middle dose - and there's hardly any clocks around so that adds to the difficulty of keeping track of that. Also, they were good about shoving things off for next shift because they "didn't have time." There were at max 3 groups a day, but usually only 1 or 2, with nothing to do to pass the time. Oh wait - you could color, or watch TV IF they were in a good enough mood to turn it on and then it was whatever staff chose - patients had no choice on TV. They would not use the intercom to announce groups, meals, or snacks, but had no problem doing 3!!! fire drills within 48 hrs, the first of which was in the middle of the night. There was no regulation on the cordless phones (and no wall phones available for patients use) so phones went missing constantly and then they'd get mad and just shut them off until some got returned, but made no changes once turning them back on so it kept happening. There was also a patient who was supposed to be on supervised phone calls, but they didn't do that and several loved ones received prank calls. There was a very meek and mild older lady that was blind who said she didn't usually use a wheelchair, but they took away her blind cane because they didn't want it to scare other patients 🙄 They were very resistant to putting people on one to one patient care even when a patient was not able to care for their own basic needs or, even worse, when they were a danger to other patients- i.e. grabbing other people's wheelchairs without permission, touching other patients, entering other patients' rooms, often unnoticed unless caught, but there was often several (!!!) patients that had been forcefully medicated, and God only knows what she may have done to those poor souls. And, there was a large number of the staff that didn't know any patients names, even when they had been there a week or more. If you have a loved one needing help, send them ANYWHERE but here. It needs to be shut down. Also, they are getting ready to rename it Ocean's which is the parent company that bought out haven several years ago, so beware when it changes that you dont get sent there with the new name.”

“My mom is here and she says theres a murderer there that's abusive to other patients. Staff thinks it's funny. How do I get her out of there!? She Had an UTI the led to Delirium. She's much better now. They've not disclose anything to me. No one has called me and she's scared to death. I wish I could make them all feel the way my mom does.”

“Never had a worse experience trying to even get a hold of someone that works here. Cant set up appointments to see paitents, have an attitude whenever i DO get a hold of a nurse. In my experience, they dont tell the paitent you tried to call or the message you left. If you have someone you truly care about needing help DO NOT bring them here. Also if the paitent has an existing health problem, they will NOT help that paitent. This place is a joke and has the most immature staff ive seen in any sort of medical place.”

“If You Have Family In Here, GET THEM OUT!!! Staff Is Neglectful, Abusive, and LIE To Families! I Realize Your Family Members Need Help, This Is A Half Inch Above A State Hospital! Patients Often Enter Other Patients Beds Without Permission Or Supervision. Some Staff Appears Under The Influence. Haven Was Recently Bought Out By Oceans and I Was Given The Name Jonathan As A Contact. CALL, CALL, CALL!!!!”
