How likely are you to recommend Hattiesburg Clinic Psychiatry - Lincoln Center?
What patients say on Google
“If I was able to write Zero stars I would. This clinic is NOT mental patient friendly! They are very dry, cold and unwelcoming when you have to speak to them on the phone. They get more rude by the minute. I was told when I came to my appointment, I had to be there an HOUR early, not the 15 minutes iris told me. They then proceeded to tell me they sent out letters and iris messages that I "read" that stated this and because by this point I'm so upset I now can't be seen ever because I'm mad and not accepting the lack of care conversation this woman is giving and demanding to speak with the manager of the clinic. SHE WAS THE ONLY FRIENDLY, DOWN TO EARTH PERSON IN THE WHOLE CLINIC aside from the door greeters. The security guard who harassed me as soon as I walked into the building told me, he would have me pick up and removed in other ways if I got out of hand because I WANTED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER. No one in this clinic, obviously not even Lisa herself needs to deal with people with mental disorders and depression issues because NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON IN THIS CLINIC KNOWS HOW TO DEAL OR LEVEL WITH THEM. this could have been handled more like, " I am sorry for your frustrations but I could get you into speak with the manager or see when the earliest you could be rescheduled if that would help you!" Nothing of the sort was ever said to me from the git go. As a single mom of four and high gas prices, I wasted my time and money driving like a maniac in horrible hattiesburg road work traffic to be told basically like oh well, who cares you have waited months for this. Not us. I DO NOT RECOMMEND WASTING YOUR TIME AS I DID MINE. They will come up with some kind of excuse not to see you too I'm sure.”
“If there was a zero star option, I would choose it. PSA: under no circumstance would I go here. I was denied treatment because I “wasn’t a good fit for them.” This entity is in the business NOT to help people but to help their bank accounts. They are seeking patients who are complacent, compliant, passive, and most importantly, easy to manipulate into taking medication. Psychiatry has become a joke.”
“Edited to add: I've since found out that Mr. Reeves billed Medicare $466.00 for the ten minutes he spent talking over me. $466 for ten minutes of his time during which he did nothing as a medical practitioner. Roy Reeves at Lincoln center psychiatry spent less than ten minutes speaking to me today. The entire time, I was not allowed to finish anything I was saying. He interjected at every opportunity and ignored my concerns. He ignored me attempting to continue my explanations after he kept interrupting the ten minutes to troubleshoot his computer. Not once was I allowed the chance to speak freely until I finished speaking. This man knows nothing about my medical history and nothing about my psychiatric history. He didn’t allow me to speak long enough for him to get relevant information. His computer was also down so it’s not like he could look at my records, either. I would not recommend this place to anyone I care about. This person is at best negligent and diminutive. I wouldn’t like to see him at his worst. I have reported the visit to Medicare because it was supposed to be an hour long appointment, which I assume they will bill for, but the appointment lasted less than ten minutes. I know because I timed the entire exchange. Any facility that will bill an hour for ten minutes of time is already shady. He prescribed two drugs that do not and have never worked for me. He also neglected to mention their negative aspects - one of the medications he prescribed causes withdrawal when ceased (they like to call it “discontinuation syndrome” instead, but it is withdrawal, medically speaking). He made no effort to inform me of the dangers of this medication and he clearly overlooked them. Not only does that medication cause withdrawal but it also has been reported to induce cholestatic hepatitis. I’m a liver transplant patient. Why would I take a medication that doesn’t work for me but might cause liver damage? His words, to paraphrase, were “well you just have to take it even if it doesn’t work”. I ask you, is this what you expect of a medical professional? It certainly shouldn’t be. I encourage you to do your research and find a better place to care for you or your loved ones than here. You deserve to be treated appropriately.”
“I had previously had an unpleasant experience with the way that I was treated when I was seeing Dr. Billy Thornton here. He was condescending and I always felt like I was being hurried in and out, rather than recieving person-centered care. And finally, he terminated care without any warning because he was changing jobs. HOWEVER!!! I just had the best experience with Dr. William Turner in my firat appointment!! He listened intently to everything I had to share about my medical history, and he did not treat me or speak to me as if I am an unreliable witness to my own bodily/mental experiences the same way that a lot of physicians, especially male physicians tend to treat me. It may also be that he is younger, but he also seemed much more knowledgeable of CURRENT research in the psychiatric field than many physicians I have had in the past :)”
