How likely are you to recommend Good Hope Hospital?
What patients say on Google
“I spent almost a week there and had to leave early by my own choice due to my medical issues and not receiving my long term blood pressure meds and being denied a test for a uti I felt I needed. After returning to my regular doctor he tested me for a uti, which I had and treated me and Im still being treated for it because it's resistant to all the antibiotics so far that I tried but I do feel better with the antibiotics. My psych doctor is working on getting my psych meds straightened out because after talking to Good Hopes telemetry Psychiatrist for 2 mins she changed my meds I had been on for a year or more. My psych doctor and medical doctor both told me a uti can cause an altered mental state in people my age and older. Im 61 yo female. So Im hoping to continue getting better. Good Hope however was a safe environment and your days were filled with groups and you got 3 meals a day plus snacks and were supervised throughout the days and nights. I just wished I was listened too and diagnosed earlier. It's not all Good Hope's fault for me ending up there though the ER in my hometown missed my symptoms too but thank goodness for my primary physician. I hope to keep getting better physically and mentally. I would have given 5 stars if Good Hope had kept me on my current blood pressure meds and listened to me when I said I needed a test for uti.Thank you for responding. I appreciate that Good Hope provided a safe, structured environment. However, my main concern remains that my established blood-pressure medication was not continued and my request for a UTI test was denied. My doctor later confirmed a resistant UTI requiring treatment. I hope this feedback leads to patients’ medical concerns being heard and addressed more promptly.”
“I did a 7 day stay here when I had a PTSD blackout and tried ending my life in February. This hospital was filled with staff that were gentle, understanding, providing and eye opening in the best way. Now I also have a new diagnosis, meds and resources that saved my life. Thank you again Good Hope, you took great care of me when I was there. P.S. thank you Beth for discharging me on my birthday, that will be something I will never forget. ;) XO "Wednesday"”
“A Loved one spent 7 days here and I was horrified after reading some of the reviews about Good Hope and when I called to get info about my loved one I was initially told nothing and the nurse hung up on me ! So I say all that to say don’t pay attention to the negative reviews it is a mental health hospital and their primary concern is the health and safety of their patients after a couple of days a social worker called me and updated me on my loved one ! And after 7 days I picked them up and they were better and stabilized on medication with follow up info and a prescription for more meds ! I have nothing but thankfulness for the Staff at Good Hope and yes it is an appropriate name for a mental health hospital that gave my baby hope ! And a special thank you to Tika a nurse who met me outside as I showed up to bring some clothing to my loved one I understood that she couldn’t give me any info and yet she comforted me and assured me that they would get the clothing to my loved one so thank you Tika for your love and understanding 💜”
“The psychiatrist is tele-only and prescribes medicine without even discussing it with the patient. The nurses do not treat physical ailments. There are a grand total of ZERO activities outside of staying in your room all day. This is a place to milk insurance money. Not to help those that need it. Never voluntarily go here unless you want a brief prison experience.”
