What patients say on Google

“My experience has been good. Geode got me on a treatment plan within 60 minutes of the first appointment. I was shocked at the pace, but from my research, Geode followed precisely the appropriate steps for someone with my symptoms. Their online portal makes it easy to communicate directly, and the responses are thus far within 48 hours. When my insurance behind-the-scenes was ending coverage without informing me, Geode informed me and I was able to resolve that within a few days. Front desk is also the most helpful I've ever seen at a medical office.”

“Walked in the door and it had a spa like feeling, very relaxed and comforting. I hope to be a long time client. My nurse practitioner was very attentive and listened to me.. New update. My nurse practitioner cant see me more after first visit. Had the receptionist message me that. Very unprofessional. Got a message yesterday at 1030 am that all good for next appointment. Get a message today saying she cant see me anymore thru the receptionist texts”

“I can't speak to the level of care of the actual providers, but I can speak to the general treatment from front desk staff (at North Aurora). My son was discharged from a crisis stabilization program less than a week before coming to this facility. Appointments were made by his case manager and him for this facility, and his contact information was provided. When we arrived at the facility for his appointment, my son was in an active state of crisis/anger, and it was already hard to get him to go inside. When we walked in, a woman at the front desk was talking but not making eye contact with us or even looking in our direction, so we assumed she was on the phone. She then looked up, and we realized she had been talking to us - she was asking for the forms for intake, which she stated had been sent to a phone number. My son had never received a text, and because he still had limited access to his phone, he did not receive any phone call attempts. Another woman, sitting at the opposite desk, confirmed that they had called once but had not left a message. He tells her this, and she responds by stating that she shows the message shows: received. I ask her if we can just have the forms, and we'll gladly fill them out, to which she responds that they're sent via text. Apparently, they only accept digital forms here, so I asked her to send them again. She does, but rather rudely tells us that he has to have these filled out, or he cannot be seen. As this was the second time she had said this, I say we understand, and, while flustered, my son sits down and tries to go through the forms on the phone. Before he gets anywhere, she's asking for his ID and insurance card, so he stops to give those to her, she scans them, then gives one back, but repeats that he needs to hurry up because if the forms aren't filled out by 45 after, they'll have to reschedule. We had about 10 minutes, but he was struggling so badly, and she seemed completely inept at reading the room, as she was telling him to hurry, but also asking for things, and just carried an overall tone of needing to be right and matter of fact than sensitivity for the state the patient was in. My son was holding back tears (and anger) when he asked if we could just reschedule. I say yes, but I fear what comes after this, knowing he really needed to see the psychiatrist as he was experiencing some symptoms, but also knowing it's better not to push. I tell her we'll reschedule, as her demeanor isn't conducive to his headspace. As we walk out the door, she shouts, "Hold on." Not going to lie, that 'hold on' at that volume and tone took everything in me in that moment to choose my son's well-being over correcting this woman's complete miss in customer care. I looked at the woman sitting at the second desk, trying to piece together whether this was normal behavior or treatment of patients. The second woman did not look up from her desk. It took me two hours to get him to calm down after leaving that office. So here's what I'll say. I figure most patients are likely more regulated when they come in. I get that everyone has off days, and perhaps this was one for this woman. I also recognized with her matter-of-fact nature and aversion to eye contact, she might even be on the spectrum (I say that not in jest, as I have close family with autism), but what I don't understand is is that type of behavior ever being acceptable in a front desk position of a mental health care facility when there are bound to be patients coming in that are experiencing a hard time in that moment. We've since moved on to another facility that has been instrumental in helping my son get back on track with his recovery, but I was so taken aback by that interaction, and it delayed finding follow-up care for him by a week. That might not seem like much, but for the family members trying desperately to keep someone on the path of recovery when they're struggling, every day, every hour counts, and that was sorely missed at this facility.”

“’ve had a really positive experience with Dr. Jimmy Oh. He is kind, patient, and easy to talk to, which made a big difference for me. He listens without judgment and offers practical, helpful guidance. I feel more confident about my treatment plan and supported in my progress. I’m very grateful to have found him.”
