How likely are you to recommend Generations Mental Health Center?
What patients say on Google
“I am sharing this review because I believe people considering Generations deserve to know about my experience. I was taking 30 mg of Lexapro (escitalopram) and was under the care of Generations when I was late to an appointment. I was subsequently told multiple times that I would have to stop cold turkey and wait for another appointment. It is never recommended to stop an SSRI cold turkey, rather it should be tapered. At the time, I was already experiencing an unimaginable amount of grief. Seven members of my family had recently died, including my mother. I was struggling emotionally and was particularly vulnerable. Within approximately three days of abruptly stopping my medication, I developed severe psychiatric symptoms and experienced psychosis. I ultimately required hospitalization to save my life. I understand that medication decisions can be complicated and that every patient’s situation is different. However, abruptly discontinuing an SSRI solely due to missing an appointment is negligent. My experience was devastating and frightening. The way my medication was discontinued placed me in an extremely dangerous situation at a time when I was already struggling with tremendous loss. I am sharing this review so that others can ask questions about how medication discontinuation is handled, what happens if an appointment is missed or someone arrives late, and what support is available during an acute mental-health crisis. This was my experience, and I hope Generations takes it seriously and reviews what happened.”
“I had zero issues until Tanya Parker left. She was amazing and very responsive to my NEEDS - not wants but NEEDS for my mental health. I called to get a refill this morning on an important medicine and they told me Tanya was no longer with them and I’m discharged. This was so shocking and disappointing. The receptionist was absolutely no help. Just gave me the run-around. I am being referred to a different Mental Health Center because that is not how you treat a patient with depression and hasn’t had their medicine in days— because the patient was failed to be informed their doctor left. Crazy. Will never be back there. I work in behavioral health and I KNOW that’s not how you treat patients. Absolutely ridiculous with zero compassion.”
“I enjoyed going here until my main dr left. Ever since he left they won't even call me for my regular monthly med appointment.”
“These are some of the most caring people I have ever found. It is good to know that the organization is Christian based. Thank you for your help with my needs.”
