How likely are you to recommend Geisinger Psychiatry and behavioral health?
What patients say on Google
“My daughter is bipolar and was admitted and quickly discharged because she didn't have insurance. She wasn't allowed to even shower for 3 days, she was prescribed meds that haven't helped at all, if anything she's worse and they don't listen, nor do they care about anyone with mental health issues because "it's not profitable" I hope someone sues them into the ground”
“Horrible parking, a mass of old buildings cobbled with new ones, hard to navigate. Geisinger used to be a good name but their flagship hospital is decadence in decay. Any doctor you get there has only been there a short time and is probably on a work visa. I’ve never seen my sons doctor in person. Only video calls. And the doctor got everything wrong in his case notes. I’m talking basic info like age height race even. It’s ridiculous. You can’t even speak to your doctor or a nurse when you call just secretary if you’re lucky. Every time I have to call my sons doctor I have to go through a bunch of robo call systems and even when I reach his office, it’s always leave a message. I was wondering why UPMC is starting so heavy in this area and I understand. Geisinger is a dead name now.”
“I was hospitalized in BP2 inpatient and while I had a few kind nurses assigned to me, the medical staff in general need to start actually caring about their patients. The whole time I was there I was treated like a nuisance while another patient there was given undivided attention and coddled. I was told there was no helping me and I was discharged. No medication adjustments, I never met with my full treatment team, and I was told that my meds were essentially just a bandaid. I was almost completely taken off my meds and had to justify to the doctor why I was on them and advocate for myself to stay on.”
“A family member spent 5 days here after trying to commit suicide. They had no insurance because they just started a new job and were not at the 90 day mark yet, so they were held for 5 days and then released with no out-patient plan in place and no follow-up care scheduled. As if those 5 days was going to be enough.”
