What patients say on Google

“The staff and nurses at this establishment were amazing, and I have no negative things to say about them. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Jaiyesinmi Ganiat Ajayi was completely different and, in my opinion, extremely disappointing and unprofessional. My wife and I scheduled appointments weeks in advance because we had both developed an issue with kratom and were seeking medical help to safely stop using it. We were not there to seek pain medication or to misuse controlled substances—we were there because we recognized that we needed help and were actively asking for treatment. Throughout our appointments, Dr. Ajayi repeatedly talked over both of us while we were trying to explain our situations. Rather than making us feel comfortable discussing a sensitive issue, I felt that we were being judged for coming forward and asking for help. My wife's experience was particularly upsetting. She was told that she would essentially be treated as a walk-in despite having an appointment scheduled weeks in advance. During her visit, Dr. Ajayi reviewed her medical history and saw that she had previously been prescribed oxycodone as well as Vyvanse for her ADHD. Dr. Ajayi then expressed that she did not feel comfortable prescribing my wife Suboxone because shes on "too many controlled substances" and stated that she "sees what she is doing." My wife explained that the oxycodone prescription was from January (we are now in september) for her broken leg and it was no longer an active prescription. When Dr. Ajayi asked what my wife did for a living, she answered the question herself before my wife could respond telling her, "You're a vet." My wife and I are actually the owners of a dog boarding business. While trying to explain her situation, my wife became extremely emotional and was in tears as Dr Jay continued to dig into her while just smiling. My wife got to the point where she had to point out that I had just been seen for the same issue and got prescribed Suboxone, and why she is being treated differently when we were seeking help for the same problem. My experience with Dr. Ajayi personal experience was also extremely disappointing. She was judgmental and spoke over me throughout much of the appointment. she genuinely was not listening to what I was telling her untill I disclosed I was a retired vetran. No patient should have to establish where they stand in society to be treated with some basic respect. After my wife's video call appointment I returned to the lobby waiting for my prescription to be filled to find out that Dr. Ajayi had canceled my prescription and that I needed to speak with her again just for her to immediately accused me of lying about having a prescription for Tylenol #4 and had to explain I had disclosed my medications already to the staff, which was how the information was in my chart for her to see. (I have chronic pain resulting from injuries I sustained while serving on active duty.) Thankfully, she ultimately filled the percriptions but no one should have to feel terrible or less than human for seeking help for substance dependence. People who walk into a medical facility asking for help should not be made to feel ashamed, stereotyped, or accused simply because their medical history includes controlled medications or they have had issues in the past. My wife and I are a business owners and I am a retired veteran. That makes me concerned about the people worse off than us that are more vulnerable, less confident, or without the ability to advocate for themselves and how they might be treated in the same situation”

“Uses 1980s Style Gateway Experience, more information can be found on CIA.GOV, outdated practices and unethical behavior from staff. Not all staff but the people know who they are and will be contacted by legal and The American Disability Association for a full audit! My rights and others were violated constantly! Join my support group to share experiences going for a class action lawsuit”

“Gateway and there team was wonderful I felt hopeless but determined to get off of kratom and with there help I'm still clean. One day at a time. Jennifer was awsome person to talk to and treated me like a human they all did in that fact. Truly grateful for the decision I made to get my life back. Thanks again!”
