Garnet Health Doctors - Middletown

“Dr Gerrard Augustine was the ER Dr. attending to my son. His report states that I, the mother was concerned of scalded skin syndrome. Patient presented with rash that progressed very quickly. I informed them my other child had Scalded skin syndrome 3 months ago and was hospitalized. He told me my son had scabies from our pets at home and that’s what caused the rash. He dismissed me and sent us home. After driving roughly an hour home with a concussion in the dark, I receive a phone call from the Dr. stating to get to Westchester facility immediately, my son has scalded skin syndrome. I brought him to the ER stating my concerns and what I believed was wrong with my son. I was not respected or heard. Fast forward less than 24 hours later my son was in Westchester Hospital on IV antibiotics for a very serious staph infection. We were in the ER no more than 90 minutes. I could tell they were busy and just wanted to get us out of there. If only that doctor had the proper bedside manner and actually took the time to properly examine and evaluate my son and do some research. He would’ve gotten the proper medical attention that he needed in time. How dare you call a parent back after you send them home and tell them to come back you’ll provide the ambulance to Westchester. Big screw up on their part. I hope this never ever happens to anyone else else’s child. Strong message to parents always advocate for your children. If you know something is wrong, something is wrong.”

“I was told over the phone that my primary Dr would fill out paperwork for my daughter to request intermittent FMLA to assist me as needed for PT and pain management. Because Garnet Health does not have Drs for neck or back problems, I was referred out to 2 other facilities to see specialists. I am seeing a PA in Orthopedic at Garnet Health, as well. I brought the paperwork to the Momticello location and was advised again that, yes my Primary would fill it out. I got a call back less than an hour later and was told I would need to schedule an appointment with Primary Dr to go over the paperwork as she's filling it out. I go to said appointment and in less than 2 minutes, she said, I can't do this!!!! She contacted Orthopedics and was told to fax it over and they'll fill it out. 3 business days it'll be ready. What wasnt told to me was the PA was out since 6/9 and just returned on 6/16. I saw primary Dr on 6/10!! Now, am I right to be upset and/ or frustrated?? This is NOT what I call good patient care.”

“Garnet house was amazing place when I was having a mental crisis. They took very good care of me. I met some very good people there that were having their own mental health crisis and having their own issues and they were very nice to me and actually became very good friends with them because we struggle with the same issue with mental health. It's really crazy how that works. Great hospital. They fed me like a damn King when I was in the mental health unit. Good place. Good people there. Even the security guards were very very nice 💯 Great”
