What patients say on Google

“I am Dr. Matip's sister in law and I was her patient while she was dating my brother. Though every professional I spoke with warned me that it was conflict of interest, I was hopeful that she was God sent and that because she had a special bond with my brother, she might care about fixing the family. I had went to her for care for substance abuse. I believed that Dr. Matip would be able to recognize the cycle of abuse I was carrying out on myself, but she never took an interest at all. She never took time to get to know me personally, and always spoke at me, not with me. Through other psychologists and psychiatrists free information available, I learned the proper language for my situation and I weaned myself off of the multiple pharmaceutical medications I was prescribed by Dr. Matip and began the deep healing myself. I could no longer accept the psychological abuse coming from my father and step-mother and I wrote them letters speaking my truth. Dr. Matip called me after my step mother had reached out saying I was mean. When I told her my truth, that my father and step mother had kidnapped me from my mother when I was 2 and had been psychologically abusing me for years, she told me that she had become very close to my step mother and that she knows that she has loved me and tried to be present for me. And when I told her that her response really hurt me, because I had been her patient, she was supposed to care about my healing, she told me that because of a past personal experience, she tried not to get involved in family matters so she could preserve the family bonds and not become the "family therapist. She caused more trauma to an already traumatic experience, when I trusted she would truly help me. All of this happened a year ago, so this is not a bitter review to hurt someone. I am still off prescription meds and have moved back to where I was kidnapped from to begin again with my mama. I am doing well, and no part of this is because of Dr. Matip. She is still preserving those family bonds with my abusers. If she truly cares about healing people, families, she had a golden opportunity, but she chose not to be the family therapist in a family that really needed it. But instead, she is enabling them to live in denial. Is that good mental health in any way?”

“I have been going here for awhile now, and I have had nothing but good experiences so far. The receptionist is very friendly, and prompt about getting back to you with any questions, concerns, and paperwork. I have been seeing provider Youn and she has been so kind and compassionate.”

“The practice started off great when i first started, then i got passed through a bunch of psychiatrist and finally connected with one like i did when i started. I Slipped into a medical issue (grande mal seizure) and was put on a bunch of meds by my neurologist. Then when i finally talked to the head of the facility 9 months after my medical condition came about i got chewed out by the head of this facility (dr.matip) about the meds i was put on for my condition. The biggest issue i had with them besides that was them wanting to change my appointments knowing i had a memory issue from a brain surgery i had as a child enoff said…”

“I've really appreciated the care and compassion of this place and really like how they use pharmaceuticals as a last resort. With them I am off a lot of meds I had been on and am now on a low dose of an SNRI. Eleanor has been excellent and responsive and I really appreciate that she seems to care. This is in stark contrast to what I've experienced from providers in the past. I'm really grateful to have been referred to them.”
