“I want to preface this with some background, so you can understand what Laura Best dealt with with me. I am a retired Lieutenant with the city Fire Department 22 years, I have been retired for 14 years. I thought originally doing therapy with another First responders would be best, I was completely wrong. Laura did for me in the first session, that the other therapist didn't do in 3 sessions. Instead of the posturing, Laura made me feel at ease and comfortable. We'll before I retired I am sure there were sings of PTSD, but in my day you told to lock up your emotions and pain. Which by the way I did very well. Laura showed me how to give myself grace, she gave me tools to use to help with those bad and dark times. She gave me direction and let me find my way through the things that are triggering. I don't have enough words to say about her or thank her. She helped me to start really healing and take a breath and enjoy life again. My wife has told me what a difference therapy did for my mental health. I like to think if this old contrary firefighter finally was able to ask for help then they surely do the same. I would recommend Laura to anyone and if need be would not hesitate to go back to her.
