“It is unfortunate that I have had to share my concerns in a public review rather than directly with the provider. I would have preferred the opportunity to discuss my experience privately, but after multiple attempts to communicate, I received no response. Because this is a mental health practice, I believe communication is especially important. Patients seeking mental health treatment are often navigating difficult life circumstances, and clear communication from their provider can make a significant difference during challenging times. I am sharing my experience so that prospective patients can make informed decisions when selecting a provider. My goal is simply to provide an honest account of what occurred and how it was handled. I was a patient of this practice for nearly two years, and until recently, my experience had been positive. Several months after my last appointment, I received notice of a bill related to a lapse in my insurance coverage. Unfortunately, I was not notified of the balance until approximately five months after the visit. By that time, I had already entered bankruptcy proceedings and, following legal advice, was required to include all outstanding medical debts as part of that process. I was completely transparent about my situation and sent a message explaining everything. In response, Titi informed me that it was not a problem, that we could work it out, and that there was availability to schedule. After receiving that message, I reached out multiple times over a period of approximately two weeks in an attempt to schedule an appointment for ongoing medication management. Despite several respectful attempts to communicate, I never received a response or clarification as to whether I needed to seek care elsewhere. My issue is not with receiving a bill, nor is it with having an honest discussion about financial circumstances. My concern is the lack of communication that followed after I was told we could work it out. As a healthcare provider myself, I would never want one of my patients left wondering whether they needed to find another provider or how they were supposed to continue their care. Patients deserve a clear answer, even if that answer is simply yes or no. A simple response would have allowed me to move forward much sooner. Instead, I was left without guidance regarding ongoing medication management during an already difficult period in my life. I am sharing my experience because communication is a critical part of patient care, and I believe prospective patients should be aware of how situations like this may be handled.”
