How likely are you to recommend Family Care Center Therapy & Psychiatry - Round Rock?
What patients say on Google
“I had a very positive experience with Family Health Care Center Round Rock Psychiatry. The Nurse Practitioner was professional, attentive, and easy to talk to. I felt listened to during my appointment, and my concerns about medication management were taken seriously. The provider took the time to explain my options clearly, answer my questions, and make sure I understood the treatment plan. I appreciated the compassionate approach and the focus on finding the right medication balance for my needs. Overall, I would recommend this practice to anyone looking for psychiatric care and medication management.”
“I’ve been a patient at the Georgetown location and have never been so happy to return and talk to a professional. The therapist I see is the best! She’s helped me work through so much, yet I know I still have a long journey ahead of me. I’m thankful for this group and even more thankful for my therapist. Strongly recommend them for anyone who is struggling with anxiety and depression, or even if you just need someone to talk to. They accept UHC, for certain. My therapist suggested I see one of their psychiatrists, which I did, and again I’m very happy with who I was able to talk to. Whomever you see, in the group, communicates with each other to ensure you get the best care possible.”
“Sam was filling in for someone the day we visited, but she went above and beyond to help us. As a parent bringing my child to a new therapy center for the first time, there were a few logistical issues to sort out, and Sam handled everything with patience, kindness, and real initiative. She even took the time to call me back later to help reschedule an appointment closer to our home, which I truly appreciated. I wish every clinic I ever went to had a Sam. She made what can sometimes be the most stressful parts of visiting a doctor or trying a new facility feel easy and painless. We’re very grateful for her help.”
“AVOID. I agree with the reviewers commenting that this place has predatory billing practices, because it does. I haven’t had an appointment since 9/2025, and I had made a large payment then and assumed I was all good. Now let me make it clear, that if I’m billed and owe money that that is completely fair, I’m not trying to avoid paying my due. I’m paying out of pocket after all, because I do take my health seriously. What I DO take issue with, is that I apparently owed almost $400, and they made no effort to contact me to tell me. Instead, March 2026, they charged my card for the full amount. Not that this matters to them, but I was already having a horrible week, so way to make it worse. The only times I was contacted between my last appointment in September and now, was for them to tell me my psychiatrist was leaving the practice (which I was aware of) and to try to get me an appointment with someone else. Now, if I apparently owed money why even try to get me another appointment without making sure I’m paid up?? When I got this charge I looked at my billing and portal messages (we get email notifications when we receive a portal message) to see if I somehow missed this invoice, and 1) sure enough, not ONE message telling me I owed money and 2) they for some reason added additional billing codes to the last appointment I had, so it was 3x the amount I had been paying for my follow-up appointments. The only other message I got from them was them asking for my new mailing address because they were trying to send me mail, and I had moved cities. Which I gave. Oh, and you guessed it, they STILL didn’t tell me it was because they were sending me a bill of any sort. I had only logged into the portal messages so I didn’t see my full dashboard. I would’ve been happy to do a payment plan if needed and if I was aware that I owed money, I’m not trying to short anyone ever, but I didn’t even get that opportunity. So, unfortunately I had to miss a major bill this week because of this expense that I had no heads up at all that I was about to be charged for. So to be clear, no calls to tell me I had a bill, no emails/messages, they added extra billing codes so my last appointment was somehow way more expensive, AND they were still trying to get me to reschedule my appointment with someone else at their practice after my psychiatrist left. (Let me quickly plug in, Dr. Luc Amdahl is AMAZING, and this review should not reflect on him whatsoever. I wasn’t ready to start over and see someone else, hence why I didn’t respond about rescheduling my appointment with someone else). Oh, and as you can see with all their negative reviews they give their phone number and tell you to call. They are terrible at answering the phones, and several times I’ve been on hold and waiting for someone to take my call for over 10 minutes. It’s no secret that financial stress contributes to many people’s mental health, so you’d think they’d handle this with more care, tact, and sensitivity. Sadly that’s not the case with this practice. What a shame.”
