“I usually do not leave 2 reviews but I feel as though it is deserved. Dr. Stuart Larson is a blessing to have as my provider. He is the most caring and empathetic Psychiatrist. He genuinely cares about your well being and goes above and beyond to help .Not all Psychiatrists will listen to you and help guide you in the right direction. I can finally see the light at the end of the dark tunnel I was trapped in for so long. I am very grateful for how much he has helped me and made a positive impact in my life and mental well being. He is a great asset to Eprhaim McDowell and I genuinely appreciate how much he has helped turn my life around.”

“Tl;dr: I’m very happy with E McD. B.H. and Samantha Goodlett! I have nothing but good things to say about Ephraim McDowell Behavioral Health in general, and Samantha Goodlett specifically. As far as the practice is concerned, everyone I’ve had contact with has been professional, friendly, and helpful. Also, I haven’t experienced some of the things that others complain about; granted, I have always had to leave a message and wait for a callback, but it’s always come in a timely manner. Even the initial call for my intake appointment was returned shortly after leaving my voicemail. And as far as prescription refill requests go, I usually get a notification from my pharmacy within a couple hours after submitting my request. Samantha is awesome! I feel like an active participant in the management of my own care with her. She really makes me feel heard when I tell her about what’s been going on, and I don’t ever feel like I don’t have a voice. And I love how open she is about medication options; she was willing to prescribe medication that I have had good luck with in the past, but also made suggestions for alternatives. And she explained her suggestions with logically without condescension. It was “we can go with what you know works, but THIS may work better for you BECAUSE…” I appreciated that very much, and went with her suggested alternative, which was a smart choice on my end because I truly feel like it is the better option for me.”

“Theresa McIlvoy is amazing and I have nothing but praise for her! The office, as in the people answering the phones, receiving messages, making call backs….are completely ineffective. I left numerous messages over a week span and no one called back. I missed an appointment because no one would call back after they JUST called. I was out of medicine for a week due to no call back. I had to wait a week to even reschedule because no one would call back. Finally I called and refused to stop calling over and over until someone answered. When someone did pick up they started giving me medical information and I had to stop them. They thought I was someone on on hold. They told me to hold, but actually hung up. I started calling over and over again. Until I became very demanding, I got no help. The few times I ended up on the phone with someone, it was excuses. We are short staffed, I’m just filling in, they’ve got me “down here” because they are short. I don’t care about any of that. I work in a place where the same thing happens and I do not get to make excuses. I apologize, say we can do better and then we do. I am furious with the office staff. This is not the first time I’ve had this problem. They need training and accountability. Theresa is the best provider that I have ever had and I will not leave because of her. However, that is the ONLY reason. It does not feel good to have to trust your mental health with people who can’t manage to remember who they are talking to or make an organized list and return a phone call. I’m more than happy to share my experience with someone in upper management that has not been present in that office for the past week or so. If you have been in that office, odds are you probably won’t call me back because no one else does either.”

“I arrived a few minutes early. Staff was friendly as they always are. I was taking back a couple of minutes before my appointment time. Ms Goodlett is amazing. She is compassionate, professional and I have no doubt that she cares about my well being. I fully trust her with my care. Thanks”
