What patients say on Google

“My experience with the Deerfield Behavioral Health program was extremely concerning, particularly toward the end of my child’s treatment. As the primary parent actively coordinating care, transportation, and communication, I made consistent efforts to support my child’s participation in the program. However, there was a noticeable breakdown in communication and support from staff during critical moments of escalation. Toward the end, the tone and approach toward both myself and my child shifted significantly. I no longer felt supported as a parent seeking help, and communication became limited and misaligned. Concerns I raised—including safety issues—did not result in clear or actionable guidance. Instead of a collaborative, therapeutic approach, interactions began to feel more reactive and less focused on supporting my child’s mental health needs. Ultimately, my child was discharged without what I believe was appropriate coordination or transition planning. Families deserve clear communication, support, and partnership—especially during high-risk situations. That was not my experience here.”

“I normally do not write reviews but I feel compelled to share my experience here to warn other patients about this place and their practices. After prescribing me without informed consent their risky and mind-altering meds, including SSRIs, antidepressants and benzodiazepines, I suffered dangerous involuntary intoxication whereby I developed insomnia, akathisia and metabolic damage. I was tricked by these reckless and corrupt psychiatrists and addicted to these substances without even knowing it.”

“I'm so frustrated! 1 star is to high for the service that me or little person can give. I have a teen ager who needed to see the doctor. Every time we made a in person appointment right before the appointment it changed to a virtual appointment which was ok. However this last time I made an appointment I was notified a couple days before the appointment that the doctor went on leave and we would have to see another doctor. I do understand that life happens and may throw a curve ball. So I made an appointment for my daughter to see another doctor a day after see was suppose to see her doctor. I made the appointment time for 11:00. We put our life on hold waiting for a call after 30 minutes I tried to call the office I waited on the phone for a total of 46 minutes before anyone answered. I was told that the appointment was changed to 3:00 instead of 11:00! I was told that in the notes that a message was left on my phone and also left in the teen portal. No one has ever said anything to me about a teen portal and I never got a message on my phone! The number was checked to make sure it was the right number and it was the right number. This was so unprofessional, frustrating, and stressful! A person's mental health is very important and when it treated like it is not that's a huge problem!”

“Horribly useless program. Very unsafe if your child is even a slight run risk- they allow the children to just walk down to the cars once the program ends unsupervised instead of checking that a parent/ assigned pick up person has arrived. Rochelle is terrible, she will promise to do all these things for you and your child and then never follows through. I was promised an appointment with their psychiatrist since my child's meds were running out, she never made one. She promised to get a form signed for insurance and never did even after several calls and emails to her. If you want your child to get help I suggest going somewhere else.”
