What patients say on Google
“I wanted to share my experience attempting to become a patient at Emory Psychiatry. Making the initial call was not easy. It took considerable effort to work up the nerve to seek help and request an appointment. Over approximately the last six months, I have called twice, only to be told each time that Emory is not accepting new patients. For an organization that promotes itself as a premier healthcare provider, it is disappointing to hear that access to care is effectively closed to those seeking help. The message being sent is that Emory has all the patients it wants and has little interest in making room for those who are actively trying to receive care. What made the experience even more frustrating was the amount of time spent waiting. On my most recent call, I waited approximately 12½ minutes before speaking with someone, only to be told that no new patients were being accepted. If that is the standing policy, that information should be communicated immediately rather than after a lengthy hold. Additionally, on both of my recent calls, the representative failed to properly disconnect the call afterward. Because the line remained open, I was unable to participate in the post-call survey or leave feedback regarding my experience. Healthcare organizations often speak about the importance of access to care, but my experience has been the opposite: long wait times, no availability, and no meaningful opportunity to provide feedback. For someone already struggling enough to reach out for help, that experience is discouraging.”
“Very attentive and excellent doctors.”
