How likely are you to recommend EM&E Health?
What patients say on Google
“DR Mensah is very patient and knowledgeable. she took her time to answer all my questions and was very professional. i will definitely go back for my next visit and recommend her to any patient who needs a doctor”
“Honestly if I could give this negative stars, I would. It's been hard finding a psychiatrist lately and the only good thing about this one is that she responded super quick. Within 20 minutes of our first appointment she already decided my diagnosis. I went in for adhd concerns but after ignoring everything she decided I was bipolar even though none of my symptoms were in line with bipolar disorder. After putting me on a non stimulant for 2 weeks, I had horrible side effects. During our second appointment after telling her about my side effects, I was told it was most likely a uti or sti. She refused to listen to any of my concerns. After deciding to cancel with her, she hit me with bills that were due a day after canceling and threatened to sue if I did not pay within 15-30 days. If you care about your mental health, stay far away from here.”
“I made an appointment, filled out online forms and emailed a report from a neuropsychiatric evaluation I had had done by Dr. Freeman Chakara. I attended and paid for a first appointment. At my meeting with this provider I could not seem to establish rapport. I was wondering if she was uncomfortable with a male patient and then Halfway through the appointment it became clear the provider had not read the report she had requested and I began to wonder if this was why she was not engaging and direct from the beginning of the meeting: we wasted half a meeting. At this point there was little I could focus on so I allowed the meeting to continue and allowed a few more red flags to crop up while still setting a second appointment so I could have time to consider her and her drug recommendations. In the end this provider somehow thought that a 68 year old patient suffering from 93rd percentile ADHD undiagnosed for 6 decades had so much time left in his life that he might want to fool around with a new drug instead of obtaining the relief that comes with one of the tried and true stimulant solutions. There should have been no discussion of a newer drug with an older patient who had been through the wringer: six decades of untreated ADHD in this degree is enough to depress anyone!. I quietly completed the appointment, went home and thought about my experience of her. In the end I concluded I did not wish to continue with someone who could not be genuine enough to request a few minutes to read over the work of a professional who spent 8 hours with me in testing: She instead chose to rely on her one time observation of me and my self reporting which in ADHD patients is not at all indicated by the literature: its why partners are always requested to fill out forms. Later at home while reflecting on my experience in her office it became clear the professional behaviors I saw demonstrated a lack of respect for me and for the doctor who did my testing, and a lack of respect for or knowledge of the literature which clearly shows ADHD patients under report their symptoms... With these thoughts in mind I would say that if you have ADHD or CPTSD this provider might not be the best for you: There were two comments she made that left me questioning if she knows PTSD well, and, left me feeling she was not great at considering who you are and what you have been through and thus may not be a choice for drug management where you and your experiences can be respected. I left off a star for the lack of respect for me, my doc, and for the effect the length of my suffering has had on my outlook. I leave off another star for the most chaotic intake screening form I have ever witnessed: it was painful and its poor use of english fairly constantly left you feeling the questions you were being asked were unfocused and unclear. I wish this provider the best in growing and developing a practice and i hope my appointment and review may be part of that growth. I regret i was not given the opportunity to offer a more positive assessment.”
“Very easy to set up appointments. Appointments are remote on telehealth and convenient for my busy lifestyle. Evelyn is very kind and caring. She is easy to talk to and listens. She remembers things in my life and continually asks me how they are going. Setting up my medications is quick and easy.”
