How likely are you to recommend East Orange Psychiatric Associates, LLP?
“In my personal experience Todd Rochman had no interest in helping me. Which you know… is his whole job. At one point I was just keeping up with our appointments so that he could keep refilling a medication that I had been on for years. This is what really got me though. The moment I said I’m never going back. Buckle in, it’s a bumpy ride. I had a regular appointment scheduled with eopa. They send me an email confirming the appointment and I missed the email. I show up for my scheduled appointment. No one is there. I get charged a 25 dollar missed appointment fee. So what do I do. Well I call up the secretary… Kat… oh yes… the one and only.. Kat with a “K” Now I call up this secretary. I’m being friendly, polite.. I tell her my name, I ask for hers. “Its Kat” she pauses “Kat with a K” I told her of my situation, that I never saw the email. I asked if there was any way to reschedule the appointment. Now you might assume, well she’s a secretary, a secretary should, at the very least…be helpful… Maybe give some information… SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS. No not Kat, she’s not like other secretaries, instead she hits me with a- “mmm I don’t know” (pardon- YOU DONT KNOW??) “Okay ma’am” I stutter “should I make an appointment online??” “Uuuuuuhhhhhm yeah, you know… you still have to pay the 25 dollar fee by the way” (0_0) “okay… idk what to do from here” I say, confused; defeated. At this moment, a cold dead silence fills the other end of the telephone. I sit completely unaware of the next devastating blow about to glide off her lips and fill my sorry ears, and all with the most stereotypical California valley girl accent I’ve ever heard, she breaks the silence. “you could check your email more” ( ͡ʘ ͜ʖ ͡ʘ) I says to myself I says.. This woman, is a secretary… for a psychiatric. care. facility. She deals with people who have… believe it or not.. MENTAL HEALTH DISORDERS! People who are hurting, anxious, depressed, doing their best to get help. And she has the AUDACITY to sass a person trying to get HELP from her. MMmm okay Kat with a K… OOOOOOkay. You are my 13th reason babe. If I didn’t want to unalive myself before, from every Todd Rochman lack luster video chat, where he sits at home and says “uhh huh.. yeah, you’re unhappy? Uh huh… yeah okay so for how long… uh huh.. okay and anything else?” NOW! Now I really do. I take a deep breath, - “well…” My voice is unsteady, my hands shaking. She can tell from my voice I’m on the edge of tears. “Can I tell you something Kat with a K” I continue met with even more silence. “You are the rudest secretary I’ve ever spoken with” “What?” She states blankly. “Yeah… the most rude” I hang up. Now kids. We’ve reached the end of our tale.. almost. I knew I had a few refills left before I had to meet with the doctor again. So I never scheduled a new appointment. (After all Kat never told me how to) though time passes and I see my last refill reaching its end. I’m dreadfully counting down the days until I have to schedule an appointment, possibly speak with the Paris Hilton impersonator, and then get to be spoken down to for 30 mins by Todd Rochman MD (MD btw. Thats medical doctor… so MD with a side history of psych-something? Confusing?) But I finally do. Because, as I stated, I need the medication. I’ve been on it for years, it helps, and not to mention the withdrawals from going cold turkey could end you. I call. I wait. Phone rings.. no answer. Again… and again. Nothing. Okay I’ll try again later. Time is running out. I finally email them. The Email reads Dear client, we see from our records that your number was flagged and blocked by one of our secretaries - (◦ˇ _̆ ˇ◦) oh boy,,,,,,,,, I wonder who? - blocked by one of our secretaries. Unfortunately we will no longer be able to assist you as one of our clients. We wish you the best of luck. I am officially screwed. I am a week away from the bottom of my bottle. Every other psychiatrist has a new patient wait time of months. And that is the kind of care I got, from our dear friends over at EOPA.”
“I personally have very rare illness , severe agoraphobia, plus several others with it. I never thought I'd find someone who actually would try to help me. I lived a different life before I had this and I miss it so much and the person I was. I don't know how much details I can share here however, I will say this place (3 people in particular) make me feel safe and like I matter again. My psychiatrist IS THE BEST! My therapist, we are still continuing to get to know each other but I can open up to them as well. The 1 afternoon receptionist is also the best. I can't thank you all enough to take on someone like me. You mean the world to me and my treatment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for always making me feel comfortable and excepted for who I am. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU ALL💜🙏🏻”
“The scheduling staff at East Orange psych is wonderful and my provider, James Weidel NP, is a fantastic guy. He listens to me, he's friendly, and I believe that he has helped me find a medication that is FINALLY working for me. I'm so thankful for him and this practice!”
“Well I’ll be honest: seeing the amount of positive reviews already speaks for the passion that Dr. Rochman and his staff bring to their patients. But I’d still like to share my own experience. I first called Dr. Rochman’s office in June 2024 after experiencing a panic attack on a plane. I had another flight scheduled for the following weekend and desperately needed help. With no notice, Denise and Dr. Rochman were able to squeeze me in right away. He was kind, mindful of my urgent timeline, open to my many questions, and most importantly, he never made me feel “crazy” for asking for help. Fast forward a year later: I reached out again hoping for another last-minute appointment. Not only did Denise and Dr. Rochman remember me, but they also fit me in that same week. Today, I see Dr. Rochman every week, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve always dreaded doctors, dreaded feelings, and dreaded combining the two, but now, I genuinely look forward to our sessions. I feel lucky to have found such a supportive and compassionate team. I would recommend them without hesitation. In my opinion, they are truly best in class in the state of New York.”
