What patients say on Google
“I'm leaving one star because leaving zero is not possible. Do not send anyone you love here. The team is not equipped to provide the care needed. Additionally, the staff constantly tries to change the rules to visit patients, including stating the evening hour is only half an hour when it's an hour, refusing to write down your name when you call to make an appointment, playing on their phones when they are meant to be observing patients, and losing patient items. Terrible place. Rather than showing compassion to the people visiting patients, they are dismissive and rude. For the record, I have nothing but respect for nurses, however, I also don't excuse ill mannered behavior. Do not send anyone you care for here.”
“If you have someone here at Duke Behavioral Health North make sure you have a password and an appointment before you go there. I had my daughter there and did not get to see her. I asked to speak with the manager in charge and still did not get to see her. I had brought her some clothes and a blanket. They did take that. I drove over an hour to see her. Still I was denied. They may be good with mental health processes; but, they sure don't know how to deal with a Mother who just wanted to see her daughter. I am against this type of thing. Keeping family apart. Its not what is best for my daughter I know that. Mothers know best. Not this place. They should have let me see my daughter. I am writing this review so another person knows that they have to have a password and appointment. Ask for the handbook while there. Once people are on the patients list of people that are allowed in they should contact them and tell them the rules. If I could give them a zero star I would. Rude and nasty. I had no idea about the ridiculous password and appointment.”
“If you or a loved one is in need of mental health care, this is the place to go. Every professional from psychiatrist to nurse and social worker is compassionate, patient, and truly interested in each patient. The patients I met were all doing very well because of this top notch care. There are many therapy sessions offered during the day, and they are well presented and really make an impact. The food is delicious, and interesting and varied too. We in the triangle are blessed to have this resource.”
“My mother was admitted to inpatient care here and they basically saved her life. The entire staff from the Dr's to the social workers were all incredible. Even the security guards were wonderful. I brought my mother here from out of state when her hometown failed to help her. It was basically a life or death situation. After about 3 or 4 weeks my mom was well enough to come home. I cant thank the entire staff enough for their kindness and their willingness to get my mom better. If you or a loved one is in need of inpatient psychiatric care, this is the place you want them to be. Signed a truly greatful daughter ❤️”
