How likely are you to recommend Dr. Sudhir Nagaraja?
“All the providers at Virginia Integrative Psychiatry are top-notch. The office gets you in quick for appointments either with the doctor (if your situation is complex) or the nurse practitioners. It was easy to schedule a virtual telehealth visit. Highly recommended.”
“Dr. Nagaraja and his team consistently go above and beyond to provide compassionate, accommodating care. They communicate schedule changes clearly, which I greatly appreciate. Dr. Nagaraja is not only an exceptional psychiatrist and therapist but also a highly skilled acupuncturist. His acupuncture treatments are painless, deeply restorative, and have been transformative in my journey. Years of muscle tension are finally easing, and I’ve gained a greater awareness of how stress shows up in the body—and how to release it. Acupuncture has truly been a game-changer in my treatment plan, thanks to Dr. Nagaraja’s expertise and care!”
“I've had a great experience here for the past few months seeing Dr. Nagaraja (both as a psychiatrist and a therapist). He has been amazing at helping me reframe my tunnel-vision perspective on issues and at talking me through the science of the medications he prescribes, something that is important to me. The office is also accommodating to when I am running late or if I need to make a last-minute adjustment to my appointment due to illness.”
“This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a mental health provider. I brought my sister—who is a UK citizen visiting the U.S.—to Dr. Sudhir Nagaraja’s clinic in hopes of getting proper psychiatric care. Instead, we were met with judgment, inaction, and a complete lack of empathy. 1- Refused Treatment Without Custody Order Dr. Nagaraja insisted that in order to treat my sister, we first needed to obtain a court-issued custody order. His reasoning was that anyone with mental health issues who doesn't have a legal custodian should be left untreated. This is not just unethical—it’s dangerous and inhumane. 2- Refused to Treat Due to Visa Status Despite knowing that my sister entered the country on a visit visa, he told us we needed to consult an immigration lawyer first before he could proceed with treatment. He implied that only those with permanent legal status deserve care, which goes against basic medical ethics and decency. 3- Ignored Urgent Medication Needs We provided her recent blood work, including results from a UK hospital and his own ordered labs. Yet, he still refused to refill her essential medications or offer a treatment plan, even after being informed she was running out. This kind of neglect could have had serious consequences for her mental stability. 4- Lack of Communication and Excessive Fees Dr. Nagaraja only met with us during the first appointment to charge a high consultation fee. After that, there was little to no communication, no follow-up, and certainly no support. It felt like the clinic’s main concern was money—not mental health. I honestly believe Dr. Nagaraja lacks the compassion and clinical judgment needed to treat vulnerable individuals. If anything, his rigid, biased approach may reflect a deeper misunderstanding of psychiatric care. Perhaps he should consider a psychiatric treatment for himself. He is in urgent need of antipsychotics to treat his perceptional disorder. Avoid this clinic at all costs—it is not a safe or supportive environment for anyone struggling with mental health issues.”
