“Made 15 year old me believe video games are the problem and not emotional unavailability of my parents. His office in Midland begged me to go to some impatient program for suicidal tendencies, which I denied. But 5 months later when I needed it, and they questioned if I *really* needed to go because it was “a lot of paperwork.” I wish it didn’t take me 5 years to speak up, but this is a no good man. Also, how he just ignored all of my claims for my issues and just told me to drink protein shakes and not play video games with my friends. I’d give 0 stars if I could. Awful man, worse doctor.”

“I went to his office with my parents and got diagnosed with anxiety and ADHD. He told me that I was addicted to caffeine, which isn’t the case, and that I should drink protein shakes. He gave me vitamins to calm me and get my vitamins up, but I didn’t see a difference. He told my father that he loved me too much. I never truly got a diagnosis or meds after going to about five or six appointments.”

“He originally saw my son three years ago and I was very pleased with his approach, doing bloodwork, nutrition evaluation, etc... and addressing these concerns instead of just prescribing some medication that would end up causing other side effects. After the initial visit, we were switched to another provider in his office and everything has been fine the past few years. Last week, my son was going in for a check-up and to potentially wrap up "treatment". The provider he has been seeing was unavailable, so he was scheduled with Dr. P. It was obvious he hadn't read his file and proceeded to berate my son for what he thought he should be doing at this time in his life. My son left feeling like a failure. This man will no longer be seeing my son as he has no right to speak anything into him from an uneducated point of view. This, after his appointment was two hours late and caused my wife and I to miss another appointment. While I have always appreciated the time he took with his patients, he is disrespectful of their time. If he thinks he will run long then he should schedule less patients throughout the day. Either way, we are done with Dr. P.”

“Dr. Pepermintwala is a very good and thorough doctor. He’s funny and kind. His front office staff, however, have told me EVERY TIME we go in that our deductible was met, when it was NOT met. Maybe that’s just confusion on their part, and hopefully it’s not incompetence. A patient should be able to receive an honest and a straightforward answer on what they will owe. They accept Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance ONLY. Make sure they are upfront and honest with you BEFORE you go, and don’t let them get away with jerking you around every time you go in. My BCBS has a $30 copay, easy enough. My children are on a different BCBS that some in the front office do not understand (and they are rude about it when you call them on it and try to hold them rightly accountable), so just be careful. It doesn’t take long to rack up a huge bill there. Dr. Pepermintwala is worth the money if you can afford it. If your insurance is crummy, then hopefully you are well off, and hopefully you won’t mind the treatment from the front office staff. UPDATE: They do NOT submit claims to insurance.”
