How likely are you to recommend Dr. Ralph J. Cusick?
What patients say on Google
“I had a very bad experience with Dr. Cusick about 8 years ago. Basically, I had a father that was narcissistic and he was making me depressed. When I explained my situation to Dr. Cusick, he did not believe me. He thought I was a problem child and was just blaming my parents. He was extremely rude and condescending. He accused me of ridiculous things. It became obvious that he appeals to parents by blaming the child and not actually helping patients. Thats why so many reviews here are from parents and not patients.”
“Fantastic doctor. Dr. Cusick takes the time to really talk to patients - doesn't just ask a bunch of scripted questions. He is very approachable, has a calm demeanor and a great sense of humor.”
“I have been a patient under this doctor's care since September, 1998; going back to the days when he was located in Riverside, IL. He always seemed to be supportive and caring as a doctor, especially during a rough time in my life. When I first met this doctor, he seemed sympathetic to my not having mental health insurance, yet accommodated me, to which I was appreciative. From the first visit however, he put me on Venlafaxine, initially as free samples, for which I have still not been able to get off of without serious withdrawal issues. In the past couple years or so, as his practice changed to Stillpoint in Hinsdale, the fee for my visits were more than doubled. Then in June, I was charged for a missed visit (work-related) to which I never received my requested reminder call. Apparently they dialed an old phone number, despite having my current one on file. I had previously made arrangements with the office to remind me the day before a visit as a courtesy, to which they agreed, since I only come in a few times per year. I was admittedly upset with the office staff when they called me (using the current phone number this time) to tell me I missed the June appointment and was being charged for it. While I'm not going to excuse myself for missing the visit, or for missing a couple others to which I did agree to pay, the office staff was completely unwilling and/or unable to reverse any charges or negotiate the missed appointment fee, absolving themselves of any responsibility for using the incorrect phone number. At a later date, I called to make a make-up appointment with this doctor and get a prescription renewal for the now *three* medicines he had me on, and was informed by the office I was no longer a patient of his, and that I was sent a "letter" to that effect after the missed visit in June. Truth is, I never received any letter to that effect, and was never notified in any other way, either. Basically, I was "fired" from my doctor of nearly seventeen years, and left now in a situation where I cannot stop taking one of the drugs he prescribed due to the serious difficulties in withdrawal, and no doctor to prescribe any. In short, I could never recommend Stillpoint to anybody. This act was at the very least unprofessional, or worse.”
“Awesome doctor! Helps patients get to a good place! Not a pill pusher he actually helps patients get better mentally!”
