How likely are you to recommend Dr. Philip Yam, MD?
What patients say on Google
“DO NOT SEE THIS PSYCHIATRIST!!!!! Dr. Yam is extremely unprofessional, rude, and dismissive. He laughed and smiled throughout our sessions- for the ENTIRE time- even when I was discussing my brother’s recent death. He lied to me about many things regarding my treatment which led to me having to RECORD my next session with him. I left every session I had with him in tears. His treatment directly led to my depression to the point I had to be hospitalized for SI. For YEARS I was unable to trust any providers for fear that they would treat me as badly as Dr. Yam. My life was almost ruined because of Dr. Yam, and the decisions he made in regards to my treatment, contributed greatly to the worst time of my life. I sincerely hope that he has changed since he’s still practicing because I do not with this treatment on my worst enemy. Please, protect yourself.”
“Do not be misled. This physician and the clinic he works for, Serenity, appear more focused on selling high-reimbursement treatments like TMS than providing care. From the very first intake, the subtle sales pitches begin with lines such as ‘we’re not a traditional clinic.’ During the first appointment, there were no meaningful questions or discussion—just a brief history followed by a sales pitch for their services. I've been seeing the same providers for over 5 years and recently had to change due to relocation. This was the closest place to my house, but I rather drive 10x the distance than see this guy who has done nothing but cause headaches making changes to treatment plans that have been effective for 10+ years. I'm guessing the plan is to tell me how effective TMS is after purposefully disrupting what was working before. My wife sees another provider at this same location, she has the same TMS sales pitches almost every session. As a matter of fact she was prescribed an obscene amount of medication and her provider told her that she didn't have to take them, but by prescribing them it could 'go on her record' that way eventually insurance would cover the TMS treatment. Complete insanity and an insult to the profession.”
“Dr. Yam's professionalism and genuine concern for his patients make him an outstanding psychiatrist. His dedication to providing the best possible care is evident in every interaction!”
“Dr Yam is a very good doctor and I highly recommend him and Serenity. He is very caring and a great listener who got me on new medication that has made a big difference. I did the TMS treatment he recommended and it has helped me considerably too. It’s a great place with great people working there.”
