“I found Dr. Barnett after looking for a psychiatrist and not finding anyone willing to help me with the illness I have (moderate to severe in severity, hard to make a correct "cocktail" balance of medication, which is necessary with that I have been diagnosed.) Once I talked to the therapist, I was happy that she was up for the challenge and is experienced not to be scared of giving proper care. Pros: She has a LOT of medications and medication combination experience that she's able to use as the best course of action when needed. She really listens, gives feedback, and gives an empathic ear. She's very educated and very willing to tell you the pros and cons of every medication you have to pick from (no, no doctor lets you pick everything you want, I mean when you have a medication you need, like an anti-psychotic, she will tell you medications she thinks would best benefit you and lets you have a little input). She is local, so if something were to arise, I feel I'd be able to get better support than if I were using telehealth. Cons: Well, she doesn't take insurance...HOWEVER, she sends you an itemized bill every time so that YOU CAN TURN IN TO INSURANCE. Very easy to do if you know how to use your portal for your health insurance. She works 3 days a week. If Monday or Friday appts are important to you, you will probably not be able to set them with her. So that's something to consider. Overall, I'm really happy she took a chance with me. She's decreasing a medication slowly that takes a while that my body is overdosing on. She was the Dr. that found that, after being on this medication around 5 years. She's also moved around stuff without doing what a lot of psychs do...Change all your medications when they get started to "make their own mark." Highly recommend if you are having a hard time finding a good psychiatrist!”

“I've been seeing Dr Barnette for about 10 years. She's never been 2 minutes late for an appointment. She does listen, understand, and treats you with respect. She also values your opinion on medications too. I've been seeing psychiatrists for 28 years, and never had a better one than her.”

“Dr Pamela Barnett has great empathy and is not afraid of the drugs her patients are prescribed. If you have been fooled by Altapointe into thinking you know a professional and educated psychiatrist you are being neglected. I had Dr. Hanak several years ago before she changed her name. Finally she is extremely timely and always called me in right at the very minute of the appointment. She is not obsessive-compulsive about the patient being late and I don't see any problems with her personality.”

She is an Awesome,understanding psychiatrist that listens to me( and I tend to over talk),she absolutely values your opinion as a patient and takes into consideration your feelings. Timely,and always a positive,good attitude,I just love this about her, because ,for me,sometimes she is THE only place i consider ' safe',comfortable,and the only place i find a positive word and a place for edification-You know;The place and person you know who knows just what to do to give you a boost of confidence in the right direction! I ABSOLUTLEY agree with what the other person said,in a word,She Is a Lifesaver!!!! She helped me change my life for the better in a huge way.
