What patients say on Google
“I waited to write this review until after my favorable rating, because Ms. Dabney seems to blame her awful treatment of vets and complaints against her as “vets salty they didn’t get what they wanted” If you have a C&P exam with her, RESCHEDULE!!! She refused to let me read my notes, she asked me about my symptoms, I started getting into details, I’m already rated at 70 percent when I had her exam, with diagnosed dysthymia. so I know what I deal with daily. I told her about my sleep paralysis, I was immediately shut down with “don’t use exact terms.” The exam was very hostile, made me feel so on edge, This lady is very cold and lacks empathy, it’s obvious from the minute you step in. I told her I smoke marijuana to deal with my symptoms, which the VA knows about, she started to jump on me and ask how my husband feels about it, (??????) asked how my TODDLER feels about it (????) and asked how i’d feel if i hired a babysitter who was high. (Maam I am a. mother, not a babysitter.) Then she implied my lungs aren’t healthy, kept attacking me asking if my doctor is positive my lungs are healthy, mind you I had no coughing or breathing issues in the exam, so this wasn’t fair to ask. This lady has multiple, documented complaints against her. I submitted one myself. The VA is STILL using her. She has no business examining vets. The reviews speak for themselves! Then there’s a review from “robert” that’s so obviously written by her, where she implies that vets are just “mad they didn’t get what they want” when they share their experiences. Stay away.”
“My session with Dr. Dabney was a very positive experience. When answering questions she would delve deeper into my answers by asking me to elaborate. Dr. Dabney was very attentive when I responded. Aside from being very Professional, she actually cared about my struggles with PTSD. I'll close by saying Dr Laura Dabney was amazing. Thank you.”
“I appreciate Dr. Dabney's warmth and her ability to listen when I share my traumatic experiences while serving in the military. My conversations with her have brought back sensitive memories that have significantly changed me as a person. I felt that she listened to me without judgment, which made me comfortable sharing my experiences with her. It was a very emotional conversation, but Dr. Dabney did a great job guiding it.”
“Dr. Dabney made me feel comfortable and was very straightforward about the purpose of our visit. She was extremely respectful and listened. I appreciate her making time. And I can’t speak on other people and their experiences but I will say she as a provider has a right to ask questions that allow her to have a better definitive in understanding things. Be are not providers and they’re trained for this. So though people express frustration she is literally doing what is asked from A-Z. So when a person may be triggered, well there is a root cause and that needs to be noted in order for an elevation to be fair in the process. Again she is doing her job by the standards of the state of Va. Nevertheless not everyone will be happy but respect her and her position it’s not an easy career. Again I thank her so much for allowing me to share things. And so forth.”
