How likely are you to recommend Dr. Erik Cantrell?
What patients say on Google
“Dr. Cantrell is a phenomenal psychiatrist. He listened to everything I had to say and quickly diagnosed me with ADHD. Once diagnosed, he gave me the plan on how to deal with my ADHD, making sure that I understood everything. Since being diagnosed and medicated, it has helped me tremendously in my academic career as well as my daily life. Dr. Cantrell is extremely supportive of his patients. When needing an accommodation letter for college, he quickly and thoroughly filled out the documentation for my school so that I am able to get the accommodations that I need. Additionally, when realizing that my current dosage was no longer working, Dr. Cantrell and I discussed what I was feeling, and he decided that it was appropriate to go up on my medication slightly, which I have had no problems with since. He reassured me that the timeline from when I started the medication till that appointment, it was normal to need to go up on dosage. Not only does he treat me, but he also educates me through the process. His staff are wonderful and always greet me once I walk in through the doors. Every time I have an appointment, Dr. Cantrell is always so kind and generous, offering water or a soda. When leaving the downtown office, I always receive a voucher for the parking garage so that I do not have to pay to leave, which is extremely generous. I highly recommend Centerway Behavioral Health as well as Dr. Cantrell.”
“My family and I are filing a complaint to the state medical board for his violation of Article 15 Section 44-53-1610. On a second note, my father has already submitted the review and is in touch with the South Carolina State Medical Board. I did not want it to go through myself, But my dad reassured me it could have caused danger to me if I had taken the substances he issued. I have a feeling that he’s going to lose his license. He doses way to much on his own meds. That’s why he looks like he is always staring off into space and rambling incoherently. He totally scraped all of the truthful negative reviews of him on Yelp, And only kept the very few that were “positive”. That’s saying you don’t care about the well-being of your patients and only care about your ego. This sounds about right for Erik. I cannot tell you how shocked I was by the number of one star reviews, and terrible stories his patients left. When people depend on you for something so serious, and you treat them without honoring the oath of, DO NO HARM… There will be serious consequences. PS. The mother deserves full custody of his daughter. He raises her in a textbook method of parenting, Instead of allowing her to just be a kid. It’s going to backfire when she becomes a teenager, buddy.”
“Erik is an apathetic, egotistical business owner; he left all clinical skills, nuance, empathy, and case coordination in med school. He can't keep clients NOR STAFF because they feel minimized and controlled under his outdated, dogmatic ways of approaching mental health. It's embarrassing. He asked me within the first 10 minutes of our session TO RIGHT A REVIEW "it really helps us out"- I was actively sobbing about my mom dying. Again, thinking about himself and not attuned to me or my emotional state. If i could give 0 stars I would”
“Dr. Cantrell has been great. As a patient I value his open communication. He listens intently and has a nondismissive behavior which I greatly appreciate. I am happy to have him as my doctor.”
