How likely are you to recommend Dr. Bharat J. Shah, MD Inc.?
“I went to see Dr. Shah many years ago but the experience has stuck with me and I wanted to share. After only a few minutes of talking with me he said that I need to go back to school and become a nurse so my parents would be proud of me and then prescribed me depression medication. After a few years having worked with competent Healthcare professionals that listen and care I now know that this was pretty much the worst possible advice and was frankly very damaging. My parents are proud of me and always were, I have been diagnosed with adhd and the sadness and anxiety I was experiencing was mainly from not understanding why I was failing at academics and life in general. Suggesting that I go back to college and become a nurse (which I never expressed interest in) and saying that will solve my problems was really setting me up for more failure, heartbreak and wasted time. To be clear I did not follow this man's advice but it did put a bad taste in my mouth about psychiatry and greatly delayed my mental health journey. Which is going wonderfully now thanks to Summa family medicine and Hope Behavioral Health. Listen to these reviews and DO NOT GO HERE.”
“I went here for about 10 years. I would mostly just work with the nurse practitioners, who were great. Can't say the same for Dr. Shah. He is smug, inappropriate and infantilizing. Look elsewhere.”
“My review has changed since 5 years ago.Dr. Shah always talks about my weight and how I'm on too much medication. He has taken me off of something for the third time that has caused me terrible withdrawals and making me have a breakdown including right now. My nurse practitioner Maureen has made great progress with me and for me, just for Dr.Shah to undermine her decisions. I'm in a bad place right now crying panicking very depressed full of anxiety anger freaking out because of him changing my meds who isn't even involved in my care on a regular basis. He was told not to mess with 2 medicines because lowering is not tolerated. I am physically disabled with serious spinal and muskoskeltilical problems multiple bulging discs ect. Why make my quality of life worse?! Amanda never showed up for our appointment for the week I was to be checked on either. Being Jan 7th 2025. Once Maureen leaves I'm leaving. She's the best Nurse ever!!!”
“Staff is great, especially NP Amanda! I'm afraid I can't say the same for Dr. Shah. He's very authoritarian and I never felt with him that I was a part of my own health management Team. When I was experiencing dizziness, he refused to consider that his meds night be causing the problem. He even recommended I get my prostrate removed - a bit "out of his lane", wouldn't you agree? NP Amanda was great and if I only ever had to deal with her I'd have been OK. But, I had to see Dr. Shah periodically. I just couldn't bring myself to sit through another session with him, so I found a new doctor. I'm doing much better now.”
